My dad is driving me nuts with his already! D:
I put his screen protector on, because I have 'female hands', did it all correctly, and because of the way you have to apply it there's still a few bubbles left behind. The instructions says that it'll take a few days for the rest of the bubbles to disappear, so what does he do? Pull it off anyway, blame that I did it wrong and blame me that I've lost him £15!
Anyways, anyone else have this phone today, could give a middle aged man advice on a good screen protector, and hidden gadgets on the phone?
I'm coming to my upgrade very soon, and I am looking at other phones instead of the iPhone.
However, from my point of view I like the development more on the iPhone (1st and 3rd party) compared to Android. I had the T-Mobile G1, then a HTC Desire then a Desire HD, modded them with custom ROMs etc. etc. and tried to write some tweaks for them but I just found Android to be a dull OS. But looking at it now it does look a lot sharper and more friendly, also the fact that phone manufacturers are starting to tweak it more to match the hardware of the phone. And out of the lot of them the Galaxy S III looks the one to get.
Still, I don't know if I would chance getting another Android handset just to be disappointed by the OS again when I love my iPhone and iOS (Especially jailbroken) and already have accessories for it. I think the only thing that would make me go for the Galaxy S III would be if it was a fair bit cheaper than the iPhone, which it isn't.
To those who own one, what's the best thing about it?
And is it ridiculously thin?
You probably have it set on auto brightness or something.
no its not that i got it set to about 75% for all the time i even have Auto adjust screen power turned off so maybe its just the phone
There is more than one screen brightnes setting, each app can have different settings.
The main setting out in the menu will adjust brightness of the screen dependant on ambient light. There is a power saving one, but there is also a "video brightness" setting, pause the video and press the menu button while a video is on, and you can see it, you can then turn the video brightness up and down.
swype is just a different keyboard to the normal one, you dont have to take your finger off the screen, you swipe it from letter to letter.
Swype came with my note, preinstalled (can pick it in menu>settings?language and input, not sure if on s3), its very good as a kyeboard in my opinion.
The beta looks promising but as can be seen above has some issues lol.
have you tried formatting the memory card? could simply need a format to be used.
Nope that doesn't work.
I think it's safe to say that apps need to be stored on the phone and music, photos and videos on the SD card.
-goes to put all my music on SD card again-
