You get paid £15,000 for many hours .... more hours than if you play COD.
If you are a crap soldier you die and get no money .... or dole because when you come back you can't sign on.

sure, and lots of money. In the army they have a thing called danger pay, the more danger you put yourself in the more they pay.

I bought a house and 2 dogs with the danger money they gave me, and brought a car back from burma.

Simple thing you should ask yourself is.

What has this country done for you & is it worth throwing your life away to protect americas intrests in the world.

A soldiers duty should be only to fight in defense of those who can't fight for themselves or in defence of your country.

As nothing like that happens these days why would you want to join the army.

A soldiers job is to do what they are told within the bounds of human rights. A soldier does what the people of the country want. A soldier does this by obeying the legal orders of the democratically elected leader of the country.

The Soldiers of the British Army are and always have been fighting for the British people and British Interests. The British people told them that American Interests were their Interests and they should fight.

Sure we are lied to, and so are soldiers, but this is the peoples fault for voting in scumbags who are willing to let people die searching for weapons that dont exsist, but the blame is everyones to share. It was the peoples fault for every soldier who died in some messed up situation like that. The person who joined the Army didnt throw their life away, the people threw it away.

Far too easy to pass blame onto America, and its not right.

Saying that, You could always join the Army of another country. That's what I did.

I used to be a fair bit more impulsive than I am now, I actually started in the Irish Navy because they told me I could sail to scotland during the summer on one of their small sail yachts.

When I was in cathal brugha barracks doing the navy stuff, I was tiing knots etc, I found out that the Irish navy just chases fishermen all day, and that you had to be high ranking to take the boats on holiday. Then when I was outside some Army guys came over and started to make fun of me when they found out I was navy.

Anyway I ended up in the Irish Army and then the Legion through other impulsive moments. Actually now I think about it my whole life has been me deciding stuff on the spot :/ even going to uni I decided that in one day on the spot..

Possibly. I'm not aware of any others that are colloquially referred to as 'the legion'.

Yeah the legion is a French elite wing. The French Foreign Legion.

They only take non nationals, french people join but they give up their nationality by claiming to be from a french oversea territory.

I didnt mean he should join them, but other armies allow people from other countries to join. If you want you can nearly get into any army even American, and you dont have to limit yourself to your own country.

Wasn't Bear Grylls part of the Foreign Legion? Or was it just the Indian army and the British SAS?

I love Bear Grylls.

I wouldnt go out and join the army just for the sake of doing it no. I have great respect for what the men and women of our armed services do but its just not a career that I want to do personally.

Should another World War happen and the country needed me to do so then I would.

If that happened you probably wouldn't have any choice in the matter.
