Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

Had a PSP 3000 for  1 week and I have struggled to understand how to upgrade/download to the unit. And now I have found a sensible instruction list. I will give this a go thank you.

Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

ow do i update if i not got usb? it tells me cant sign into psn cause need update but wont let me update. surely it would make more sense to auto update whenever an update comes out. looked at  how to update but that hasn't helped surely there must be a way to update without buying yet more gumph for your psp?

Re: Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

i think near bottom of 1st page is an instruction for updating via wireless. when i get time, i'll message a mod to combine the posts

Re: Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

yeah thanks saw it right after posting and tried to cancel my last post but guess it didn't work. after installing it says i could delete the update.....HOW?

went thru just about all the settings and couldn't find it.

also is it possible to add friends on psp or is that only on ps3? got a couple m8's i wanna play with but could be difficult if unable to set up private room then invite them

Re: Re: PSP Instructions: Updating and USB Mode

to delete the update, go to Game > Memory Card (bottom option). Here you will see a file that says PSP Update Version 5.51 (or whatever number). Press triange > Delete.

and you cant add friends on psp as such. some online games (Resistance Retribution) allows you to add friends ingame, but not like the ps3 unfortunately.

You got yourself a 'Brick!' There is 2 possible ways to fix this problem.

1. Send it in to Sony will be expensive though.Very expensive

2. Use a tool called a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. These are primarily for installing CFW but can be used to 'Unbrick' a psp and install official firmware.

You can buy these tools off the net or make your own! I would buy personally  as making your own can be complicated. Search the net for the items.

Just on a side note I do not condone the use of CFW or Hacks I use official firmware personally!! However a pandora battery and magic memory stick are essential for fixing bricked psp's. This is why I personally recommend owning these tools.
