PSP camera issue 80108D50

[ Edited ]

ok i bought invizimals for my 3 kids who all have psp 3000's and on every single one i get the 80108D50 error code saying connect a compatible camera ? The camera came with the game.

i have reset all psp's to sormal , reformatted the mem sticks and made sure the latest update is on them as well as all connections are clean but i cannot fix this error . Is this a console issue ,  camera issue or am i going to have to return this to amazon ?

Someone please help as i have 3 kids not very happy with their dad at the minute :smileysad:

yeah i had the exact same problem but i looked around some more websites and i found out that if you've never really used the psp camera the contacts on the sides of the usb slot get dirt so get a small brush(like a paint brush would do but unused) and clean the contacts on the side of the usb thing. and if that doesn't work put a little drop alcohol on the brush to clean the contacts.

that should work right away

* NB: The error indicates that the PSP is not picking up the camera, therefore cleaning the USB port, and ensuring the camera is firmly screwed into the unit should rectify this. If the issue remains theere may be an issue with the camera (you can check the PSP USB works by checking it with a USB cable).

Re: psp camera issue 80108D50

Hi, had the same problem this morning (Christmas Day), very disappointed son.  We tried the brush technique so knew that the contacts were clean but still no joy, however sorted it out as the "screw-in" wheel was not turned down enough, you  need long nails to do this and it then worked, now have a very happy son.  Make sure that you screw the little wheel right down, rather fiddly but this is what the problem was.  Hope this helps

Re: psp camera issue 80108D50

I have a quick question for you guys. My son was playing his game, and then got the 80108D50 error message. We cleaned the USB prongs and reset the PSP back to factory settings. The game is invizimals and his PSP is a 3001 model, with no luck. Any help or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I had the same problem, so I opened up the camera to find a broken wire. I hope you got a warranty if it is the case.
