I have a newer psp and seem to only get connection error 8001006F when i try to `romote play` with my ps3, I have registered with the ps3 and can `remote play`  via private network , but via internet no . can use gomessenger , connect to web etc. My `now sold` psp 1004 worked fine  . the psp 2003 is the one i`m using now. Any help appreciated . Thankyou .

ive done a bit or research on the error code you provided and this is what i found:

 Communication with the server failed.
Error Code : (8001006F)
- You are not allowed to access this server since its private.
- You cannot access the server since its still "offline" (This is a Killzone.com Online problem)

Having the same exact issue myself. Everything with my remote play was working perfectly fine prior to the latest PS3 update, but ever since I can only connect via private network when doing remote play, not via internet. Keeps saying my PS3 timed out, or get the same error as stated above. And yes, have tryed re-pairing the psp to my ps3 several times to no avail.

Sorted . Having registered the PSP to the PS3 , tick the box on the left of the `registered` psp . I feel foolish now .

Hi!

I'm experiencing the same problem (Remote Play works on private network at home, but not via internet) -- no solution so far. Have registered PSP properly, have checked 'Remote Start' on PS3 system, and - agin - it does work on private network at home.

Where exactly can I find this tick box?? Have looked everywhere ("Remote Play Setup" on PS3 setup menu, PSP setup menu etc.), but can't seem to find it...!?
Thanks!

Im having the exact same problem. Seem to be quite common lately. I wonder is it something to do with firmware? It used to always work for me but lately it hasnt been working at all!

I wonder could we get an official response?

The only way to connect via your PSP is

VIA Private Network PS3 can be ON or OFF, as remote play can start the PS3

VIA Internet try leaving your PS3 on and click remote play before you leave the house then try and connect via internet should work!!!!!!!

I was having the same issue.  I unpaired and deleted connections and redid everything, then I noticed under Enable remote start, I didn't tick the box "Enable remote start via internet."  Works fine now. For hardware I have a PS3 slim with the latest software, and a PSP 3000 also with the latest software.  Hope that helps someone else.

I went to online instructions in my Psp 3000 You have to turn the PS3 OFFFFFFFFF. In order to turn the PS3 on REMOTELY from your PSP. So just pair it up. Turn if off and access it with your Psp. Hope this is clear enough.
