Apologies if this is old news but really struggled to get this working, finally did so thought I'd post my settings. Basically idea was to connect PSP1000 to a Belkin N+ router:
Router model F5D8635-4v1, firmware 1.00.23, it's the one with USB port on it
Channel 11, Wireless mode n&g&b, Bandwidth 20/40 Mhz, Broadcast SSID No,Protected Mode Off, WMM Enabled
Security WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK Encryption TKIP+AES
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) Disabled - Important!!
Infrastructure mode, Manually entered SSID, WPA-PSK (TKIP), Address settings Easy
I think the bit that got it working was disabling WPS, had tried all combinations of everything else!
Cheers for that. Picked one of those routers up today and the PSP was driving me mental.
tell you how grateful i am to you for posting this fix. Had my psp for 7 months and never been able to get it to connect to my belkin n+. multiple phonecalls to belkin and sony have even changed my psp. YOU SIR ARE A STAR
You sir are a LEGEND. This problem has been bugging me for about 2 months. All working fine now. Stupid WPS!!!! Many Thanks
Thank you i have been rackin my brain on it i was about to buy a new router thx
Thank you so much. I was at my wit's end and ready to throw my new router in the trash.
Thanks Man Life Saver!!!
i've been having that same problem all morning. i bought a new psp and it came in the post this morning, i tried to connect to my wireless router to connect the thing to the internet co i could activate it (the guy i bought it from removed the barcode sticker) so i needed to connect to the net to activate it but the stupid thing wouldnt even detect my router when it was 3 feet away but it could detect weaker signals from elsewhere. i know for a fact there's nothing wrong with the wireless cause i have a wii and that's how i run the net on it (only have 2 ethernet cables and 1 is used for my ps3)
but when i went to the network update the psp connected to the wireless straight away. with any luck i just need to wait for the battery to charge and then i'll be back in business
much thanks kogaboy, i altered the settings on my wireless to mirror yours and got my psp connected to the wireless almost immediatly
Just pleased this post is still helping people out :smileyhappy:
damned thing was driving me nuts. i dont use the wireless very often, except for when i want to get into network mode on phantasy star portable 1 and 2 but it was still driving me nuts when it would take me 5 minutes to get a connection
