PSPgo UMD Promotion Explained

Hey everyone

Just got a PSPgo? You'll be wanting to know how you can turn your UMDs into digital downloads then! Here's the info on the promotion that I have. Any questions - just ask, I'll do my best to help out

First off - you'll need a PSPgo.

Sign-in to the PlayStation®Network with your PSPgo

Then, you must sign in to PlayStation Network using your PSPgo directly via Wireless Internet. If you haven't registered a PlayStation Network account before then you will need to do so.

Download the PSPgo theme via the Store.

Launch PSN store from PSPgo. The PSP Store will display new category for the campaign called PSPgo Rewards. Activate the PSN account for that PSPgo by downloading PSPgo Registration product from the store.

Register a UMD via your PSP

Using the same account Launch the PSN Store via your PSP and browse to the PSPgo Rewards. Select to download the Rewards Slot. You will then be prompted to enter a UMD into the drive at the back of the PSP. The UMD will then be registered to the account.

Receive the voucher code via email

Providing you are eligible, you will then receive an email with a PlayStation Network Promotion Code. Please ensure that the email address associated with your PlayStation Network Account is correct and active. The email will be sent out no more than 30 days after you have registered your UMD, although it is more likely you will receive it in less than a week.

Redeem the voucher

After redeeming the voucher code via your PSPgo you will be presented with 17 games from which you select 3 to download.

Please note that you must use your PSPgo to redeem your voucher and download your 3 games. Should you use your PS3 console you will recieve error code 8010850e - copyright protection information is invalid.

Had that coming I guess, hard to turn down SNES emulation on PSP though.

I will say I don't condone the use of illegal downloads of PSP games..If you enjoy games you should support the people that make them. Not steal from them

as for being a BETA Trial member, i cant see how thats related to me having  a CFW PSP...i follow all the T&C of  the Beta Trial Agreement.

Yeah, NES, Snes, Genesis and arcade emulation is what i miss the most on PSP :/

They should make those emulators as minis. I would buy it even if I had to pay extra (like 1€?) for every ROM I want to play. Seriously.

Mate, trying to dig yourself into a hole is possibly the worst thing you can do under the circumstance. On second thought.... if you don't understand you were wrong, then maybe you don't deserve beta badge.

Hahaha, well spotted MB. You still get the cream of the crops joining Beta Trials I see. LOL this was one of the reasons I quit Beta Trials. Stupidity seems to be in neverending supply among them ;)

I'm not being greedy, but is this a on-shot deal?
Or can I do it with multiple PSPs?

I have 3 PSPs (an old 1000 and two 2000s [one working other with a broken LCD]).
And over 30 UMD based games.

Can I do this offer with all 3 of my old PSPs giving me a possible 9 games, or can I only link one PSP?

As I said, I'm not being greedy, I've paid for 3 PSPs and a heap of games, so I think I'm entitled to what I'm asking.

You can only register your GO once, and you have to use the same PSN login ID to register the UMD on your older PSP, so you will only get three games...

 Please note this information!

Copyright protection information is invalid (8010850e)

If you download your games to your PS3 first and then attempt to copy the game across to your PSPgo via USB cable you will recieve this error.

We're still investigating this error, so for the moment if you have not yet redeemed your voucher, please redeem and download your games via your PSPgo only.

We're still coming up with a solution for those who have redeemed the voucher and are now recieving the error message, and we'll update you as soon as we have a solution for you.

What if...

You start the download on your PSPGo, and it fails?

Can you continue (re-download) on the PS3 then transfer it across?  (PS3 of course offers background DL, resume and better speed...)

And can you DL a second copy to your PS3 as a backup?  (Or, forgive my ignorance, can you copy across to PS3 content downloaded direct to PSPGo?)

Hope you have answers to some, or all, of these... :)

I'd recommend just downloading via your PSP, or using Media Go on your PC. I've had no issues so far :)

Hi,

I cant get this to work.

I activated my pspgo against my old PSN account, then I disconnected (well disconnected after downloading the GT Theme).

I then connected via my PSP 1000 and logged into same PSN account.

I then went to psp go rewards and selected the download slot.

It downloads and then does nothing. It doesnt ask for UMD at all (doesnt prompt for anything).

Even following your instructions, it still doesnt work. How do you know if its worked (apart from getting an email).

At the moment my PSPGO is useless, I cant use my UMD's on it and this is the only way to get something back.

Dont fancy buying games I own again.

I also downloaded the GT theme promo, exactly as it said, that to doesnt do what it says. Im so confused, this feels like a last minute setup and Im not the only 1 confused by all this.

I now have the reward promo and gt theme in my downloads. So just need to wait, :Stupid:.
