hey hey
um , errr...
1yr membership for PS+ (90d available too)
Does that cover what your looking for ?
Game have been doing this for a few months now and the selection is expanding rapidly. While it would be good to gift any PSN content (maybe use the recomendation function better) The ability to gift digital content to each other is already there.
Also check out James' Friday Debate where PSN game codes are given out as prizes each week. I also managed to bag myself cubixx hd when they were posting the psn download codes on twitter.
Apart from #5 everything is pretty well already possible. Even giving away store credit is as simple as giving out psn voucher codes instead of prizes. I doubt that would happen as most competitions are sponsered. A PSN code is effectivly a cash/credit/financial win and benefits no one (except the winner ofc and sony in the form of their psn bandwith charge)
tl;dr you already have your wish ![]()
There are other ways too...

If you talk to the Store team, they'd like to see gifting too... And it makes business sense. I guess the technical solution is not as easy as some people would like to believe. Or maybe just that Sony don't have much budget to devote to store improvements. ![]()

There is nowhere in Ireland as far as I am aware that does this. I'm sure other places are the same.
Using the store to provide such a service would give universal access ![]()

but after the coding is done there isn't too much of an overhead cost. and surely it must pay for itself. then again, the team might have looked into it and concluded that it is financially workable.

they don't sell psn cards in ireland ?
afaik game/gamestation are the ones leading the pack on digital content being available instore. what store do you acess in ireland ? if its the same store as the uk then you can use game.co.uk and simply apply the code.
as to "universal access" thats just a dream it will not happen. There are too many restrictions on a country to country basis thats keeping the tinternet and the digital future firmly divided.
the psn is already notoriously divided.
I would certainly support gifting via the store interface but until it happens the service already on offer is sufficient to gift someone psn content as well as psn money to spend. I reckon by the end of 2012 there will be close to 100 (or more) digital downloads on offer from game and most likely other retaillers will get in on the act.
sony must have already been working on the digital codes being available from the retailer or the game publishers are working with them.
sorry its not currently available in ireland. Sadly the digital age isnt something people wanna share worldwide.:''(

They sell PSN cards for adding funds to your wallet but not for games or DLC like Game do.
