Any way to get rid of the games with a bubble round them?

Hey,

When you download a game, you get the game with a bubble round it on your XMB so you can install it. But after installation, they just sit there and you can't stack them up.

Is there anyway to get rid of them without deleting the installed game? Just deleting deleted the actual game to :smileysad:!

Er, you should be able to delete the bubble file via the triangle menu. It shouldn't have anything to do with the installed game. :xConfused:

Incidentally, this new world in which you can only copy the uninstalled files to your PSP is an appalling awful dreadful unthinking disaster of a decision by Sony.

Until FW4.0, I was able to keep copies of all my PSOne games and minis on my PS3 hard-drive, in their own categorised 'albums', safe in the knowledge that I could copy the games to my PSP at any time. Now I can't. If I wanted to keep them backed up on the PS3, I'd have to keep the uninstalled bubbles and I can't add the bubbles to albums. DAMN!!!! :Argh:

Useless rubbish!

I have only recently starting encountering this problem, but I deleted the bubble and the installed game stayed :smileysurprised:

...Sorry to 'burst your bubble'

This system is in place for the new VITA. later to be used in Playstation suite for other mobile devices. Mobile phone, tablets, and so on that will connect to PS3.

Vita only has access to 2 sub sections of Game section of the PS3 file system.

  • Games downloaded section
  • PS vita Apps section ( this is the folder up top of the game section.)

The Vita when conntected to PS3 uses its own content downloader to access the PS3 file system and copy the files to its memory stick at USB2 speeds, If the PS3 deleted the file there and then. You would then have to Re download the files again to install to your PSP, mobile phone, Sony tablets.

Instead of downloading the file 4 times to install on all the devices, you only download it once.

So you have to manualy delete the file. like users of PCs have been doing for years.

How many times have PC users hit the Delete button to move an installer file,  EXE,  DMG,  DEB to the Trash bin...

For the record I have no issue with having to delete the install file, though the way it worked before was better.

I do have an issue with the sudden removal of functionality to allow me to copy installed games on to my PSP. This worked fine under FW3.x and earlier. The removal of the functionality is sorry wrong-headedness, even if it was necessary (which I have to assume; either that or they've decided it's a security risk) to make things easier on PS Vita.

God, I'd even settle for being able to add install bubbles to albums. :smileyindifferent:

I use a media server for music what do you mean buy that. is that the Copy to PSP System transfer for music slow.

Security problems, Yes

There was no way they were going to allow Android powered Sony tablets access to the PS3 game folder section... The tablets allow any Program to be added to them. They have enough problems with unregulated Spyware and malware being added to software for android.

( People complain about Apples regulation of the app store for IOS but this is why they do regulate the apps, so this does not happen to users.)

Never mind a Hack the PS3 application for android showing up...

The apps store for windows software is on its way from Microsoft after the Linux and Mac versions .

Re: Any way to get rid of the games with a bubble round them?

All my games are categorised by 'album', which is a weird piece of terminology but it's what Sony went with. You set it in the 'information' section of each file, then you can sort your games by album and they all go nice and neatly in the XMB.

Install Bubbles don't have the option, so they stick around and clutter up my XMB. Yeah, I'm a neat freak, or, to put it another way, I have about 200 pieces of content in my Games section and I like to be able to find stuff quickly... Dammit, I'm going to give up using PS3 as a backup for my PSOne games and just use MediaGo instead. (My massive 2.5Mbit/s 'broadband' doesn't make it practical to download the likes of FFVII whenever I like.)

Security: I don't see how allowing install files to be swapped between systems is any safer than allowing installed games to be swapped, but maybe there's some technical trickery at play.

O right got ya now, you want folders as there called on PC ( albums on PS3 ) for content instead of the zip files just sitting there.

Happens to me every game , ever since last FW update .

After game installs just delete the bubble as the game is already into its folder . Thats what i do anyway
