Wow, that's ridiculous! Why would you want to forbid demos of year-old games from your customers?

No PS4 for me, and not buying those games without demos.

Best guess is that Sony charges publishers per demo download. So publishers remove them after a while to reduce expenditure. Your other bet is to rent them, which is cheaper, obviously, if you already have a contract with someone with Lovefilm for monthly rentals.

Hey everybody! It's the Vita Launch Demopalooza

The store team seem determined to distinguish between demos and trials in an arbitrary manner, so if you look in the Vita 'demos' section of the store, you'll currently only see six of the demos/trials on offer.

Here's my list... I hope you've got a nice big memory card with your Vita.

And after the chaos of last night's Vita launch update, a relatively slow 'normal' Store Update with just the one new demo - albeit the new SSX - and the StarHawk beta is now available for everyone to try out (weighing in at 1301MB if you're interested).

Nothing new on the Vita front this week.

I've also done my occasional sweep through the store to find those demos that have now been removed. I found 5 PS3 demos had gone, and 1 PSP demo. I also found that one demo had returned to the store and I found a new trial that escaped me last week.
