So is it like a smaller version of Neverwinter Nights? Or Dungeon Siege???

Neither.  It's closer to Champions of Norrath.  hit, kill, loot, repeat, level up.  but with co-op.

Yeah, if you like Diablo, Torchlight, Champions of Norrath or Dark Alliance you'll be right at home with this game. Its pretty good for a cheap PSN game.

The more I play it the more addicted Im getting to levelling up my guy and finding better loot! Just like a good Hack N Slash should be.

Re: Dungeon Hunter: Alliance Thread

The Mage is a real challenge in this game. His powers are a bit weak i'd say, I hated the sewer level I kept dying when walking through the toxic yellow slime, if you can keep enemies at a distance he's awesome - but if they get too close your doomed.

The warrior is exact opposite, I've got a level 29 warrior and its a bit boring just blasting through everyone with 1000+ armour.

Best character is the rogue for me, its the most fun. His powers can be a bit OP but still fun, like the invisiblity / sneak skill, which is just like a time stop button where you go invisible and all the baddies are paused - you can run behind the enemies with your 30% faster speed and drop a C4 bomb / runestone beside the badest dude and run away then remote detonate it.

So, with the warrior so powerful and the rogue so much fun, why did they ruin the mage with almost no good spells. The mage could have used the poison darts skill from the rogue or his smart bomb that confuses the enemies and makes them attack each other IMO. As it stands my mage is stuck at lvl 15, anyone know the best arrangement of skill points for the mage ?

Me and my brother played as mages and found it somewhat easy. Freeze Ray + Heal pretty much got us through the early game no probs, then late game we just spammed Lv. 5 Comet + Lv. 5 Heal + Lv. 5 Mana Restore spell thing

The game was patched last night to clear up the invite issue.  not sure what else it fixed.

Re: Dungeon Hunter: Alliance Thread

Finally finished hero mode with one character, halfway there with the other two. Thanks for the mage advice it really helped. In the end I respec'd the skill points and put everything on energy and endurance. There is armour in the game that only required a certain energy level so I used that instead of the strength based armour.

Having high energy meant I could cast more spells and endurance adds more health points so that added to my survival. Adding nothing to dexterity or strength though meant I could only use a staff weapon, but it was extremely powerful.

Great game this i've really enjoyed it. I'm moving on to Sacred 2 next because everyone says its similar. BTW, did anyone else think the batty old woman in Jeremo market was the queen in disguise ? I was convinced, especially after I had to get that heavily guarded book from plenko's library. It was obviously some kind of spell book or something. So who was she ? and what was all that about ? I hate it when there are things left unexplained.
