Hi guys,
I've been playing Fat Princess for a few days now, slowly getting used to the buttons etc. and now loving it but what's with the online rankings of sargeant, ensign etc.? How do you get any of those?
Couple of points though, I think the offline mode is a bit limited and I was expecting a bit more choice considering the game costs £12 but I have now completed the legend of the princess and am trying to conquer the gladiate mode (tough as old boots so far...)
I am aware that there seems to be problems connecting to games online at the minute but I can only put this down to so many people checking out this game as it has been advertised non stop for the last few months from Sony!

Have you tried using "find game" then setting the game mode? That usually works, where as "jump in" or not setting game mode just have you trying over and over. It helps to set the map in the server search too if youre still stuck.
If all else fails add as many people as you can to your friends list that play Fat Princess. Joining friends ingame seems to work almost 100%

yeah I've wondered about it's reliability... I was a corporal one game, then a private the next. As for ganked - no idea!
I've been occaisionally getting a snail appear in the bottom left of the screen, which apparently means that my 20 Meg virgin broadband is slow.... ahem, surely some meestake?

People really need to do some research on connections if theyre going to game online. You could have a 120 meg connection and it could still be horribly slow for games. Gaming online (not as a host) requires no more than 256k down and 128k upload. Your 20 meg is irrelevant. What matters is distance to the server, if your ports are open. Hops to the server (distance is similar), the health of your home network, the contention on your line. The health of your ISPs network. Probably most important of all is what your ISP uses to deal with stability. If its interleaving, generally its not good for gaming unless its at its lowest setting. If its on high forget about it. Fastpath is grand for gaming. Theyre are the two most popular solutions and often the bane of gamers. A lot of people a significant distance from the exchange on ADSL2 will have to have one of these to get anywhere close to the max connection speed.
Have you got your Playstation on Nat 2? Are you playing with an American host? If you get a red snail just leave the game. Find another one or host a game. You need 1.5Mb or 2Mb upload to host 32 man games though.
