It's time again! After having a nice gap and plenty of time to contemplate the final standings of our snooker championship it's time to turn our attention to our new Hustle Kings Pool tournament and the chase for the coveted 1st place prize, The Nelson Cup.
The recent discovery of historical evidence testament to the vice-admiral's prowess on the pool table has led to us name this tournament in his honour. So good was he, indeed, that he earned the nickname 'the Portsmouth Potter' and won tournament after tournament in pubs on the south coast of England, being known for his especial ferocity against 'opponents with Spanish-sounding names'. The loss of sight in his right eye in 1794 did not deter him but the loss of his right arm three years later prematurely ended an extremely promising career and he was forced to concentrate on his duties for the Admiralty.
He never gave up his love for the game, though, and even in his later years was renowned for his incredible one-armed trick-shots. The all-too common sight of Nelson, standing with his cue-stick by his side, was compared with the appearance of the three stumps in the sport of cricket (the third stump having been introduced in 1774), and a score of '111' in that sport, resembling two legs and a cue-stick, came to be known as a 'Nelson'. Even when he lay dying, his spine shot through at the Battle of Trafalgar, his favourite pastime came to mind as he uttered the immortal phrase 'That was a bad kiss, eh, Hardy?'.
As many know the snooker championship proved to be quite demanding and only fit for those who have a lot of endurance and patience. As such we'll be shaking up how the league will be played this season so we won't have to endure an extended period of play after the final cut-off date.
This event will consist of two phases. Firstly everyone will play each other in a group stage. After that the group stage is finished the top 4 players will then go on to a knockout round. We'll be playing Black-ball (UK 8-ball) over 5 frames.
How to take part:
Phase One
Firstly sign up here. We'll be open for players to sign up until Tuesday 21st August. We will meet up on a weekly schedule, starting 23rd August (see below for more information concerning the playing schedule). After the sign up date has passed we will then compile a league features table showing who is playing who and what week those games are to be played.
Phase Two
This is the knockout stage that will consist of two rounds. Semi Final and the Final!
The top four players from the first round will then be put into a random draw to face one opponent. The winner from each match goes through to the Final. The dates for the semi-final and final will be posted nearer the time. But to add extra tension to the games all players who didn't make it to the semis will be invited to join in and watch each game!
The Final will consist of the two winners from both the matches of the Semi Final. This match will consist of 5 frames on Black-ball (UK 8-ball).
The winner of that game will be crowned the OPC Pool Cup champion and receive the first every Nelson Cup!
League Rules:
- We will meet up every Thursday at 8pm UK to play the allotted games. However, if you cannot attend a Thursday meet up then the rules below will come into place.
- You Will be responsible for arranging your missed game with your opponent.
- Your missed game must be completed within one week between (Thursday to Wednesday).
- After your game you will need to post the results in this thread.
- The person who has shown less interest in combining the date / time will be the one who will be attributed a loss in that week's games.
Each time you post to arrange a match with your opponent you must also post a suggestion for the date and time as well. So rather than post "I'm free all week" please just suggest a date and time for your opponent to say yes or no to instead.
If you are given a date and time you can't make, don't simply post saying “I can't do that time”, please post a date and time you can do instead.

i have GT5 event all thursday on finnish forum but when im finish i need to jump on hustle kings... i don't think i got delay to join

Youtube isn't essential but we'd love to see epic shots, epic matches etc.
You can upload your best shots and matches to your Hustle Kings player profile (tiny files) from where other people with stronger broadband can download them, replay them and upload them to Youtube if necessary.
