Modnation Racers

Hi all, I've just bought Modnation Racers off the store as I see £24.99 as a reasonable price but just cant get over the size of the download, 19GB so good job I'm on unlimited broadband otherwise my monthly bill would be through the roof.  Just a quick heads up to anyone else planning on doing the same

Reasonable? It's £17 at Very.co.uk (not shopped around just using this as an example) AND you save 19GB on your HDD :smileyindifferent:

If its available from a retailer (i.e its not download only) then I never have to think twice about saving my money, and saving important HDD space) :smileywink:

Re: Modnation Racers

I have not yet seen one single game that is more commercially appealing through download than on disk...

Greed fail.

Check out Extreme Golf or Shepherd for the iPhone.

Re: Modnation Racers

There are a few PSP games published by D3 publishing and the Sly Trilogy, when it hit the store at £19.99, beat any price I'd seen it at on disc before that point. I have since seen it a little cheaper on disc since then but not by much.

We spend a lot of time complaining about bad prices. We don't do enough celebrating the good prices.

Re: Modnation Racers

TBF the only time I agree with digital downloads is when they are for a portable as you don't want a bag full of games and a PSP/Vita as well :smileywink:

Otherwise retail all the way, I'd even pay a bit more for a retailer version if the download was cheaper.

Re: Modnation Racers

I'm a hoarder. I'll never sell a game on, so I'm as happy with download as with disc. I like the advantage of having all the stuff on the hard drive so I'll buy the digital copy if it's reasonably priced. Which ain't that often, as pointed out...

Then there's all the stuff that is digital only...

Re: Modnation Racers

I've had so many problems with PS3's not reading discs that I tend to go more digital now but not stupidly overpriced games

Re: Modnation Racers

19GB wow.

Great game my asda had it fo £15 last week.

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: Modnation Racers

I so much prefer to have the games on my HDD, what else is the space for? I love being able to scroll through my list of games than fiddle about looking at discs. I try to have just one disc game on the go at a time and leave it in, then have a good selection of other games on my HDD to mess about in.

Disc games are fine if it's a game you'll play, finish and then not pick up again, but a game like ModNation Racers that you'll play with friends and pop in and out of all the time is great to have on the hard drive.

True, but that space is limited, very limited especially with the size of game installs, patches and save data which is what its mainly for. In the future maybe, but not this gen, or the next TBF. You'd never store a lifetime collection of games on a HDD but you can always put another shelf up, or box them up for storage in the attic :smileywink:

Plus you cant show your collection off when they're on the HDD. ''Ooh look at my games collection - I'll just have to power on my PS3 and show you the list though'' :smileyvery-happy:

No manual to sniff :smileysad:

Nothing to take away with you or if you have a party at a friends house. yes, you can download it but thats restrictive and pointless IMO.

Each to their own though. But that's my point of view on digital downloads for a home console.
