Available on the PSN Store is the wonderful game The Walking Dead, courtesy of Telltale Games, who previously brought you the much loved Back to the Future: The Game.
Set within the same universe as the hit comic you take control of Lee Everett, a brand new character for the game. You’ll see the world of The Walking Dead from a new perspective, find out more about existing characters from the comic and see the emotional development of the various characters. With the success of the comic book and TV series, now you can experience The Walking Dead in a new light.
You are able to get a Trial of the game as well as the complete episode on the PSN Store. There’s also an option to purchase a Season Pass, netting you access to all 5 episodes (episodes 2-5 will release monthly) and an exclusive theme, all at a discounted rate.
I'm a huge fan of TV show which was the main reason that this game certainly intrigued me. I downloaded the trial and was impressed with it enough to purchase the season pass.
The exclusive Walking Dead theme is actually quite funky. The icons are all different and the background image (wallpaper) changes each time you turn console on.
Anywho I thought I make this thread to serve both as a helpful place to come for those still on the fence whether to buy the game or not and also a place to come to share tips, story arcs and advice. So please be aware that this thread may provide spoilers.
I do want to encourage you all to share your experiences and choices of the game you have had so far but please as common courtesy for those that don't wish to know make sure you use the forum spoiler tags.

I have completed the first episode the other day and I must say I really enjoyed it. I do like scary games but rarely finish them, although this (as well as the TV show itself) is slightly different. It's more focused on the characters, so the story line and the choices reminds me of Heavy Rain gameplay.

Sorry my post was too big for some reason so have to make another post to finish off what I was saying ![]()
I was just gonna ask how you guys getting on with it? If you need any hints or got any tips do let the community know in this thread (with spoiler tags where need be).
I've completed the first episode now so I can help out myself until the new episode comes out and I will get stuck again. I say again as I did get stuck for ages in the first episode and the game was so new that I couldn't find a clue online to help out. Although I'm sure you can by now, but let's make this thread a place to come to help one another defeat those walkers!
So who did you save? ![]()
If you haven't got the game, is there anything you want to know from those that have that may help you make up your mind one way or the other?
Oh and it's nice to see some characters from the comic\TV show:

How long roughly was the first episode, LR?
About 2 and half hours I reckon. I did take longer than that but I am a slow gamer, I like to take my time talking to everyone and checking everything out lol.
I'm sure some people manage it a lot less if they were rushing or whatever but you get the point.
As the story can go various ways it does have good replay value more than the other titles Telltale games have done.

Thanks. I'm the same and I explore every corner of every game I play. I even find myself going as far back as I can to double check I didn't miss anything ![]()
I'll might buy it I think. Its just I'd rather play the game in one go, and not have to wait a month just to play another few hours ![]()

I love this game! To begin with I felt kinda 'meh', but that was mainly because I couldn't invert the controls (which seemed counter-intuitive to me and made fending off zombies harder than it needed to be). Once I got used to that, though, the storyline grabbed me by the throat. It's also a nice touch at the end to see what choices other players have made - I seemed to go with the majority.
The only problem I have is whether to dive straight into the next installment or exercise some willpower and not play again until they've all been released. Decisions, decisions...![]()

I strongly agree with this ![]()
i didnt even try the demo and i never buy games off the store as i dislike digital download content but as soon as the 1st episode got added to the store i headed straight for the season pass. have no regrets whatsoever.
i expected these episodes to be mega short considering the low price of £3.99 per episode or £15.99 for the whole season but i was really surprised at the fact its actually a good length.

Inverted controls eh? I can't stand inverted controls (unless flying) and I hate subtitles in games.

I'm just used to being inverted, I suppose.
It seems logical - you move your head forward to look down, back to look up etc. Still, horses for courses and all that. As for subtitles, I dislike them myself but as my hearing's not so good any more I kind of have to rely on them.![]()
Apart from my minor quibbles, it's still a top game, well worth buying. I have problems with the dialogue in some instances, but that's just because I'm a crusty old pedant. For anyone else who doesn't care about piffle it's an essential purchase. I only hope the rest of the season keeps up the quality. Here's hoping.
