But when you enter the house to talk to Brenda

, the conversation doesn't progress so all you can do is walk forwards more and get killed 

I've tried restarting from previous chapter twice and get same thing , anyone else have this problem or know a solution ?

i moved slowly then tried to talk her down make sure you don't start moving closer till she stops moving back. i had no problems with this game except a little slowdowns in fmvs and loading screens.

**Edge closer to her, everytime she points the gun at you select her and talk to her calmly, she'll then move up the stairs abit, rinse and repeat...**

Plus, my take on it:

That was the place where I died too! Although only once.  When she says don't come any closer you just stand still and instead talk to her.  When she puts gun back at Charlottes head you can continue to move closer again until she points gun at you once more (and once again talk to her instead of moving).
