You can get this at Amazon.co.uk for £15 quid....... whats the deal with the £50 quid PSN price!!!! Sony what you hyping for?

its pretty much like that on the store with games

theres been a few games in the past 12 months and the prices are just laughable but people buy them

A) It's not Sony who sets the prices (unless they are also the publisher)...when will people get this? It's like blaming eBay for the idiots that buy stuff for more than it is in the shops.

B) Space Marine is totally worth £15 - it's a great game. It's not worth £50 though

Sony and certain other companies need to wakeup big time, if they expext everything to do digital download by the time the next console is released. IMO i think Sony and M$ are going to destroy the gaming community over the next 5 years with these stupid prices. oh yeah i just bought Space Marine BRAND NEW for £12.99.

The problem is, downloading would be quite appealing to some if it wasn't consistently such a ridiculous rip-off. Like jeans - I have the choice of paying UK rip-off prices or flying to the States and getting them much, much cheaper. But that is inconvenient. Same with technology and Japan.

That's why I will never buy a PSPgo or a Vita or (most probably) a PS4.... no physical sales, no used market, no price drop after launch = massive consumer rip-off. You just need to look at iTunes: 20yo songs cost the same as the chart stuff. Most old stuff is much more expensive on iTunes than on CD.

I posted a similar complaint thread a while back about Mass Effect 2, it's £47.99 on the store I believe, which is crazy pricing for a 2 year old game and so far I've made my choice and not bought it. Not too much of an issue, there's been loads of other games for me to play.

I do however understand the business reasons they do place them on as a premium price, that's not to say I like it or agree with it, but I have read interesting articles on why it's good practice for them, but it does discourage me from ever buying a fully download only piece of hardware. I much prefer digital download to disc, for many reasons I'm all in for digital media everything, but as these examples (ME2, Warhammer) display, fully digital on a console where you have no choice of where you can download from leaves you at the mercy of companies like Microsoft & Sony fixing prices, it will squeeze out buyer purchacing power.

OMG how difficult is it to grasp - it's the publisher of the game (e.g. EA, Activision, etc) that price it. Why are people so hung up on the hardware manufacturers setting these prices? It makes no sense... But then people also seem incapable of differentiating between developers and publishers, despite them having very different roles in the games industry.

It's very easy yo understand Sony and Microsoft can refuse to put it up so are enforcing the high price fixing.

They can easly say sorry we are not putting it up at that price.

They want to control how we play games and who we buy them from, the bigger picture is that older games are going on at high prices so we get used to it.  

We were lead to belive that digital products would be cheaper than boxed ones, this is clearly untrue even after cutting out 3rd parties and distribution etc prices are high.

Also Sony are further supporting the high pricing policy look at psp some GO games and other 1st party titles.

Personally I would only consider downloads if they were out day 1 and about £25, I am also concerned about BC on future consoles and how the accounts will all tie in.

Also Sony could go bust look at the losses they have been making year on year, what would happen to my software!!!

The industry is at a big turning point and its not looking good for the customer, I am a big believer of voting with your wallet and I have been.
