[minis] Speedball 2 Evolution

So yeah, it look's like classic computer future sport sim Speedball 2 is coming to minis as well as a couple of the smartphone telephone platforms.

Apparently the release is "imminent" but no specific date is given.  Also the above video has no game footage but its still exciting for fans of the franchise like me.

Awesome! First mini I feel is worth buying, played it on the Amiga back in the early 90s :smileyhappy:

All signatures sucks, especially those with images in them.

^Exactly this... Do minis work on PSP? Do minis have trophies? Having Speedball2 with either of those might make me mess my pants a little...

Re: [minis] Speedball 2 Evolution

minis do work on PSP and PS3.  They don't have trophies, and Speedball2 will be a lovely addition to my game downloads. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: [minis] Speedball 2 Evolution

Don't suppose there's any possibility of a Powerplay Cruiser joystick for the PS3/PSP? I loved Speedball 2 but when I revisited it on GBA, the D-pad just didn't feel right...

Otherwise - this is potentially excellent news!

LOL you realise the DS3 has a couple of pretty decent joysticks right? :smileywink:

And the PSPs one will work for...

Very decent joysticks for playing LBP or Uncharted or Wipeout HD or whatever, but they're analogue.

When you've spent literally hundreds of hours playing Speedball 2 and SWOS with your hands clutched around a Powerplay Cruiser Turbo Black, with its torsion control on high and every move responded to by a healthy clicking sound from the microswitches... Constrained to the horizontal, vertical and diagonal axes... Well, there are a lot of deeply ingrained muscle memories in there that are offended by an analogue nubbin or stick that glides soundlessly in any direction.

Don't tell me I alone in this...?

I don't need to hunt down the theme tune. It plays loudly in my head every time I think of the game. :smileyvery-happy:

"GET READY!"

Re: [minis] Speedball 2 Evolution

speedball two was fun at the time, i wonder if it would hold the attention now..

I used to LOVE it local multiplayer, but being a mini I doubt it'll have that...  definitely worth keeping an eye on though - cheers Yaster!
