If so, (which I feel there is), I hear the NTSC version is actually 'better' (apparently it plays 17% faster and is the proper speed?!?) And is there much of a benefit to playing the game off psn? Load times etc.

I have a launch ps3, so my ff7 and ff8 play fine from their discs, but I am eager to see if ff7 is better off the psn and also in NTSC format.

I downloaded both FFVII and VIII and they both runs like I remember. I think the load times may be a little faster but I can't honestly say as it's been years since I played either of them last.

I'm not sure if you are looking hard enough because I downloaded them both from the Australian Playstation Store sometime around march or april last year. They run just as well as the originals did but with obviously faster loading times.
