If people don't buy games because "OMG I CAN'T GET THAT TROPHY!!111", then they're stupid.

There's more to life than trophies.

I always look at trophies to games I want to buy but they dont effect me buying the game. I dont really mind if they have online trophies or not e.g BC2 is nearly platted all I need is 3 online trophies that are time consuming.

But platting a game with online trophies would give a more accomplishing feeling I would think.

Online trophies don't stop me from buying a game but they make me sad cause i know i won't platinum.

Currently playing F.E.A.R 2 which is a good example as to why I hate online trophies being a specific requirement to platinum a game. There are 16 trophies for online and no one playing it anymore. Didn't affect my purchase decision though.

Personally, I find It's a bit of a let down when I buy a game, go online, and find that there is hardly anyone playing it. However, I wouldn't not buy a game just because I wouldn't be able to get all of the online trophies for it.

Not really but online based torphies kinda suck.  Sometimes the game either just dies out and no one plays anymore like in Chronicles of Riddick which has some outlandish requirements.  Thats why I wanna reach rank 70 in Front Mission Evolved just in case.  So close to a Plat

I don't care, really. More than that, i don't really care about trophy, for me it's a stupid feature for the ps3 and the 360... If i want to finish a game at 100%, i don't need trophy for know what i must accomplish.

For me it depends really.
There are some must have games/series that I'd buy irrelevant of the trophies. Like the Metal Gear series, I'd buy those games even if there were impossible trophies included.
However if there is a game that I'm on the fence and uming and ahing about, then yes, online trophies would come into play. Alien vs Predator for example, I'm not massively desperate to play the game, if I never do I won't lose any sleep over it, so if it came to a choice between that and another game, the trophies would be a consideration. In fact it was, I was toying with the idea of that or Dantes Inferno, neither of those games were on my must play list, but I had some spare cash and could pick one up so when it came to the choice of the 2 games I chose Dantes Inferno. Considering neither of those games were on my must play list, it was really a toss up between the 2, and trophies was one of the things I considered. It AvP didn't have online trophies I might have made a different decision, it certainly wouldn't have hurt.
