It's my most resent plat so I am definitely a self qualified expert. It was my first time playing the game. It took me about 60 hours of over all gameplay time but I did take exceedingly long on a few of the earliest colossus, but its still one of the longer ones. The most irritating thing is the amount of replays that are required. The hardest trophy is the hard time trial one. I spent 2 hours on my birthday just trying to complete the third colossus' hard time.

kudos to you! looks like such a tough and time consuming platinum to go for, well done! though i guess if you really love the game then its worth it 8). you must have had to play it about 4 or 5 times?

It doesn't actually take that long, the game can be beaten in only a couple of hours when you know what you're doing and the Normal, Hard and NTA playthroughs are no problem. Finding all the lizards is a bit of a pain but if you do it after beating the NTAs and use the map you shouldn't have much of a problem with them, there are also guides on gamefaqs.com. Also the fruit collecting is easy but sometimes fruit can glitch into the ground, one time it became improssible for me to pick up this way and I had to re-load, I suggest doing the fruit collecting in one session with a guide too and no saving in between just in case, you don't want to have to wait till your next playthrough if it screws up.
As for when you do what, I suggest playing Normal, then playing the NTAs for the items and on that playthrough get all the lizards. After a few playthroughs (they will only be a coule of hours long with your NTA items and knowledge of the colossus locations and strategies) when your stamina is maxed you should collect the fruit and then climb the shrine, at the top of the shrine you can collect the last of the fruit (you want to save before this, as this forbidden fruit decreases your phealth permanently and can also be tricky to find - look from as many different angles as you can.
Hard mode isn't going to be aproblem, but a couple of HTAs will be. In parrticular, HTA3 is the worst because of the poor grip in this version, the unintentionally nerfed grip makes it a lot harder than the PS2 version and it feels a lot less fair. Here's my strategy from when the HD version came out, people may have found better ones or exploits since then but it took me a lot of trial and error to find a good way to consistently beat him, now I have it down to about 3 minutes:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/998181-the-ico-and-
the way I did it was basically to set off #3's right arm shake animation in order to get free full hits on each weak spot, you can set it off from his arm for his stomach, it should set off when you climb to the top of his arm and give you time to get to his head (walk then crawl the last step to his weakspot immediately charging a stab to the top of it when you get there, timing and placing Wander is important here), and finally you can sit on his right shoulder after taking the head, then as the animation sarts run and jump left to the left arm weakspot (his left arm will lift because of the right arm shake, making it easier to access). If you can beat HTA3 in this version then you've pretty much mastered the game, it's the only true challenge for the plat.
Sorry if that's a bit tl;dr, but good luck and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years, it's truly an amazing game! It's very frustrating at times because of Wander's grip in this version but it's a very satisfying game to plat ![]()

My bf said Ico is harder (well he put it, more puzzley) than Shadow Of The Colossus. Would you say I am gonna have a tough time with both too then?
Depends, do you like it hard?
