In summary his/her opinion was that online trophies should not be scrapped, that there are trophies that have high difficulty/skill levels that he/her cannot obtain but is not asking for them to be scrapped & we shouldn't just expect a game to be platible (if that's even a word) for everybody.
I think it's a very fair view. It's only when this has been misunderstood & Korgia has tried to expand on it a bit that things have gotten a little bit convoluted. When Korgia refers to not feeling any less of a person for not obtaining a platinum he/she is referring to themself not on how they judge others.
That's how I read it anyway.
lol, thanks, that was much easier than me trying to defend or re-explain it myself, that was pretty much exactly as I meant it.
I definitely wasn't saying this is my view and therefore I am right, I was just saying, 'this is what I think'.
The part about being a lesser person was just to try and devalue the importance some people seem to place gaining full Plat and then using that as a reason to scrap types of trophies.

just wanted to express the hate for online trophies i have in this appropriate thread. i've become ocd with trophies to a point where at one extreme i'd have wanted to completely uninstall trophies all together. i'm a partial ocd gamer.
my hate for online trophies comes from the need to complete them asap before factors such as servers closing, as a game progress' skilled players get filtered in a sense that skilled players stay on and average players leave at the latter part of the games life. i'm specifically talking about fight game online trophies. it's my ocd gamer side talking. i doubt my complaint is valid enough to eliminate online trophies, it's just that i don't have enough time to trophy hunt especially the long process of online trophies whereas i know that with offline trophies, i can come back to it 3-4 months down the line when i do have time and it would be manageable to complete. where as finding same skilled players in a 3-4 month old fighting game is near impossible, king of fighters for example, getting matches with the top 3 ranked kof players on psn. nice.

That is sound advice and I apply it to all new game releases too. Especially if there are trophies related to getting winning streaks or whatever.

There are different kinds of game players, ppl who play offline only, ppl who play online only and ppl who enjoy the entire game experience. Trophies are made for all types of gamers ... they aren't there just for the trophy whores.
The online trophies that may sound hard to the casual offline gamer are normally a breeze to the hardenened online player. Why should these ppl be deprived of earning trophies just cos a few wimps can't be bothered with them or have to boost to get them?
The 10,000 online kill trophy might sound excessive to some, but a hardened R2 player will laugh at how easy it is.
Trophies are supposed to be a challenge and not handed to you on a plate (like some games do), if you are not up to the challenge, then play something more at your level.

Yeah, I think they should get rid of online trophies. Co-op can stay, as you can do it with friends. Servers will shut down and games will die over time. Battlefield BC2's Vietnam expansion was empty last time I played on it about a month ago and I still need to get all gold stars on every gun amongst other trophies.
Uncharted 2's online dlc trophies seem near impossible to get legitimately unless I were to boost for them and even then, I don't thing I have the time to put the effort in for it.
Red Dead Redemption is another one. I will struggle to get the trophies online as I'm not exactly skilled against other players...
Don't even get me started on GTA IV! Level 10 in that game is pretty much mission impossible! What is it, something like $10,000,000 in online xp to reach it? Ridiculous! I know they're meant to be a challenge but at the same time they shouldn't be a slog.

That's fine, but if the challenge level is impossible due to empty or non-functional servers, that is not acceptable.
