can anyone help, is there any technical reason why a contract sim from vodaphone will not work in my vita, it registers and finds the network but doesn't look like it's got the right settings? i've asked vodaphone but they have been no use and just say they don't work, but not why!

Vodafone are a pain in the backside with their SIM cards.

They have specific codes and other annoying things on them designed to make life miserable. The only Vodafone SIM that works in the Vita to the best of my knowledge is the PAYG Data Only SIM. It's the one that comes with the Vita and you get 250MB of Data for £5, valid for 30 Days.

well, well, after getting fobbed off by customer help i tried the forums on the vodaphone website as you can get to speak to the tech guys, i got a call the very next day apologising for how crap the customer services are and that there is no reason that you cannot use a contract sim in ps vita, they even sent what i thought was a useful link to set it up...... it didn't work because uk vitas are programmed slightly different to aussie ones which the link uses, so folks after a bit of sifting i found all it needs are the settings entered manually.:-

1.open settings

2.go to network.

3.go to mobile network settings

4. go to apn settings and select manual

5. enter, apn - internet

username - web

Password - web

and save. works a treat and i now have 3gb download which i got a free laptop for  for only £25 a month :-)

Glad it's working. I was having similar issues with a 3G dongle and only just found the APN settings. Aplogies for not being much help.

no, thank you for the help, i was losing patience with vodaphone and looked like i was being well and truly fobbed of, the lesson i learned was make the right noise in the right place and they will help, lol..... eventually. :-) cheers
