Hi. I'm planning on upgrading from an 8gb card to a 16gb card and I have few questions since I'm trading in my old 8gb.
When I deactivate the account from the card and format it will that be enough to protect my PSN account from anyone who later buys the card?
On a sidenote can I just format the memory card without having to do the whole console as well?
Also when I put in the new 16gb card, will I have to set up the Vita and card again like it was a new, just out of the box console? And if so, how do I restore my old data from my already backup data.
And one more thing, I've already done the backup of the card on to my computer and I'm wondering what exactly it's backed up, has it backed up updates, installs and saves for all my games (PSN and retail) and the games themselves or will I have to redownload them all again??
This is my first time upgrading/swapping over my vita memory card so I would appreciate any help in this matter.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Did you not use the Content manager assistant (CMA) from sony to "Back up" then.

Backing up saved data and application data (game data)
You can back up the saved data for games played on your PS Vita system, and the application data (game data) for games purchased from PlayStation®Store to your computer.
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/psvita/
All you should do is hit restore on PS vita and it should copy the "back up" back to the PS vita and onto the memory card.

That will render the card completely blank.
In order to use the card on another account it'll need formatted anyway so you're safe ![]()

I'm pretty sure that's one of the options that's available in the Settings app. You should be able to format without wiping the Vita.

If you insert the new one it'll just format it and it's ready to go. You can restore the data through content manager on the PC or PS3 ![]()

The backup of the card takes a copy of everything you've got on the Vita at all. Though I take individual game backups anyway to be safe
Restoring either individual items, or the whole card should work without any problems ![]()
