Its not just a 3G issue, I have wi fi only model and my location can never be found for Maps or Near or for location when taking photos.

Just a little bummed...pay all this money and it doesn't work like advertised...oh well... growing pains of any console launch I guess

This is just weird
i went outside about 1-2 meters away from my house so i still had internet, and Near finally works
gonna try with a Sim card now, will let you know how it goes =)
havent tried the maps app so will try that also.

ok, now ive tried with internet alone and then 3G alone.
i went outside and started "Near" and it worked =) found one other player in my zone, i live in Norway.
tested the Maps app also and it worked =) im using maps now while typing this inside

 Near wont let me update more than once every hour it told me outside, when i went inside again it didnt even tell me that.... just  "cant find your location data" so i guess "Near" will only work while you are outside, but maps seems to work fine inside

hope this fixes it for the rest of you as well, but would be nice to get "Near" to work inside.
