Hi,

We have just replaced a vita which was faulty with a new vita. On the old one I could send out emails no problem through Yahoo.

With this new one, I keep getting mail returned with this message:

Remote host said: 554 Message not allowed - [320] [BODY]

I have done a bit of research and it is supposed to be because the date or time of the message is in the future so checked my settings and the time and date on the vita is ok and the times and dates of the messages in the sent folder are correct but when you look down at the rest of the returned message it says it was sent 12 Jun 2013.

I can send messages from the account using my PC so it must be the vita or the email settings, any ideas?

Try rolling back the date to 13/July/2012 and see if it sends from the present day. If so then the internal clock has been set wrong and will need to be repaired.

Thanks, tried that, the server let one message through but when I tried to send another it was bounced back, very annoying!

I've also tried a new email address and the same problem and also tried sending the messages from my pc and they send ok.

Its got to be the vita

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the e-mail app?

Email is a system app. It can't be reinstalled.

 Try reinstalling the current firmware via Recovery Mode and see if that makes this problem go away. Doing so should theoretically reinstall the app whilst it does so.

Ok, so tried all of the suggested fixes including reinstalling firmware and deleting and reinstalling email app, nothing worked. Even the customer service department at Playstation could not help.

 Was beginning to despair however a new update has just become available so connected up to a PC and did the update and email now works fine, the dates are now correct and the emails are not bounced back.

I did the previous update over Wifi so wonder if something was corrupted in the process.

I'm thinking that perhaps this was one of the little rare bugs that these small firmware updates try to fix

Hi guys,

Just to update, some users have mentioned issues pairing their email account with the email application on the Vita.

We are looking into these issues currently, so i will keep you posted on any updates.
