Re: Psvita analog stick wobbly and little loose. Is this normal?

my analog sticks have become completely messed up. the right stick drifts to the diagonal down-left and when i try and move right or up (e.g. on uncharted) the camera moves really really slowly.

On the right stick when i move to the left it doesnt fully register so nate walks around the screen instead of runs.

luckily im in my 30 day return window so im sending it back for replacement, but this is a pretty major issue for sony. i havent been treating it badly but the sticks have already broken in only 3 weeks! i really hope ths doesnt happen again

Re: Psvita analog stick wobbly and little loose. Is this normal?

Warranty should cover that issue. Ps vita is gaming console so it should be durable because its made for gaming. How could they blame you for wearing them out? ¨you played too much!, you should treat them like most fragile thing in the world!¨. Again we are talking about gaming device so buttons, sticks, screen MUST be able to handle at least 10H per day usage at least 1 year otherwise this is failure. When home console controller breaks its no big deal because you can repair it or buy néw one or use warranty but on portable its not so easy so they MUST be made very sturdy or sony will take colossal financial issue due to all replacements they HAVE TO GIVE.

Whats that 30day return thingie? I have 2 years warranty from gamestop and if my analogs fail or buttons breaks I WILL GET MY REPLACEMENT even if we are talking about 1,5 years after i bought it. Its gaming device and if it can't handle gaming then its scam. Only thing which i won't demand warranty replacement is if i scratch the screen.

I found few sites where people were complaining about left or right analog stick being slightly loose so i guess this is normal but if it isn't then those analog sticks are crappiest things i have seen because i have been extremely careful with my unit (i'm wearing frigging soft cloves). If those indeed are so fragile then it better be under warranty and it will be send back to sony to fix it every 2-3 weeks lol. If people keep sending it back all the time then devs must include big deadzone because of the analog sticks and thus we lose sensitivity of those which would make fps or other accuracy dependant games useless.

Is there any demo at psn which would be real test to see if analogs are working properly?

I would suggest Reality Fighters for testing the left analog

Hope This Helped :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Psvita analog stick wobbly and little loose. Is this normal?

I have been playing from launch day to this day and left analog has became slightly more loose. I must say that if i end up paying for this i won't buy sony products again and i will remember to tell about my experience to everyone i know.

If it's bothering you still then get it replaced! Sony will replace it for free and it sounds like you have a deal with gamestop that insures you too. All of the Customer Support details for Sony can be found here.

[ Edited ]

Does anybody else feel thier sticks getting loose? Because my left one is loosing it's center or deadzone or whatever.  I am passed my 30 days. Why does this happen?

Someone should report this so that, at least on the next console revision, some stronger analog sticks will be fitted and create and easy low cost way to replce them ala controllers.  On the Vita, the analog are like the controller of a console. Fragile, and should be cheap to replace for the consumer.

They're a lot better than the PSP ones. If you aren't happy then call up Sony as mentioned in my previous post. You have a years warranty, not 30 days. :smileytongue:

Re: Psvita analog stick wobbly and little loose. Is this normal?

I am so glad you posted this!  I just got my Vita, and I have the SAME PROBLEM.  The LEFT analog stick is wobbly; also, it is not centered.  It is actually physically closer to the left of the circular slot/hole.  This is ridiculous, considering how much I paid for this thing.  I am playing Marvel vs Capcom 3, and I cannot pull off the combos as effectively as I can with the D-pad.  On the other hand, the RIGHT analog stick is *PERFECT*;  Centered and tight, responsive.  I wish it were the other way around!!!...Because the left analog is way more important than the right!!  I can't believe this kind of a mistake got past quality control.  I don't want to return it, b/c Sony might think I am crazy or being too picky; but now that everyone else is having the same issue, I might try to return.

One more thing: I went to Best Buy and Target to compare.  The demo Vita at Target was perfect.  Both analogs were centered and tight.  But at Best Buy, the demo Vita, both analog sticks were bad.  Neither were centered, and both wobbly.  The sticks are bad, and need a re-design, and better quality control at the manufacturing level.
