I recently bought a PS vita and I've noticed that in a small area (if the keyboard is onscreen the area I'm describing is around the keys a,s,w, z area). What is odd is that sometimes it works, but alot of the time it doesn't register I'm touching in this area. Everywhere else on the screen work flawlessly. Is it a hardware problem or a software one? I'm not sure why it works sometimes but not always and it looks as if it is interfering with my gameplay as well.
Help! Any one heard of this before?

Are you sure that it's the touch screen? I thought mine on my iPod was faulty, and it transpired I'd been touching the screen with my nail rather than my finger ![]()

The screen acts if the area is being touched and held though there is no finger present. Right now I've been playing baseball on the vita and sometimes when pitching the icon freezes up because it thinks the left side of the screen is being touched and held and I have to rub my fingers around for a while to make it un freeze itself.
You bring up a good point though, maybe its the screen protector, I've been trying to figure it out and I'm still not sure of the cause. I'm willing to live with it right now, but if it affects other games I may have to try to remove the screen protector and see if it helps. Hate to send it in for service if I can't figure out a reason.

Hi CharlieC17,
I haven't heard of a small part of the touch screen failing before so it is likely that this is to do with the screen protector. If this continues to be an issue then I would advise removing the protector and seeing if that makes a difference.
