Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

Thanks for the suggestion, but....... brace yourself......

...That's the case I had that I'm blaming the problem on!!!

Looks solid enough, but it's not 'hard' in any way, shape or form.  I got the stick indents on the underside of the flap, so if you have one of these look out for it!!

The case I bought was a proper solid shell, was called Crystal Case or something, from Amazon.  It came with picture inserts so you could customise the outer appearance (not a selling point for me, but will help anyone interested pinpoint it.)  This case specifically holds the console in a foam interior so it can't move, and has gaps where the sticks/buttons are so they are not interfered with when the case is shut.

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

That's very unusual as it's been a great case for me so far! Hopefully your new case has more luck :smileyhappy:

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

I returned mine to Sony - they tested it and said nothing wrong with it - although i wasnt entirely sure they understood the problem.  They agreed to send me a new unit which i hope will not have the same problems...

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

I think ps vita has slightly too sensitive analogs and they wiggle from left to right which is afaik perfectly normal. After reading issues like yours i tried uncharted on my unit and i noticed that even reeeeaaalllyyy small push make character walk slowly.

By the way are you sure you're not pushing those analogs hard? Its just that you might not notice it yourself. If not then I blame design of analogs because they have so little to travel and its normal for them to wiggle so it makes that travel distance even smaller. I have read that some people are having issues like you so maybe there are lot of units shipped which have malfunctioning analogs.

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

I've had my new 4th vita for just over a week now, gave it the big test the other day.  Played a 2hr session of U13, and 25 mins in, had the issue again!!  I rebooted, and then had 1.5hrs play without issue.

As I've mentioned I am seriously gentle with my console, knowing it has vulnerable sticks.  This issue is NOT me, it's the quality of the hardware that's the issue.  There are more and more entries popping up on forums now, so hopefully soon Sony will have to concede there is a problem that needs fixing, be it a repair or fw update.
I plan to keep this console for now, as I do love it.  Will just not expect a great gaming experience from any game controlled by the sticks.  If it wasn't for the fact I already tried and didn't  like the 3ds, I'd sell the Vita.  But it's my only option for  commuting.

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

Are you positive you're not being too rough with it, or simply imagining it? I can't think of any reasons why this would repeatedly happen unless there's something you're doing to it that we're not.

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

That really sucks. I feel sorry for you :smileysad:. I think you should make video demonstration about your issue (yes even if problems happen after 25mins) and send it to Sony and demand that you get 100% tested and working device next. You could also check those games official forums to see if issue is with those certain games. My left analog has became very loose now but i have tried few times Uncharted demo and i have disabled motion controls and so far those issues haven't happened to me. If these kind of issues are widespread ( i hope not) then in next version we might get very different sticks or 3ds kind of slidepad.

Re: Vita Analog Sticks Issue/Problem

[ Edited ]
I have the exact same problem but it's affecting both analogue sticks. It's most obvious in uncharted where Drake will keep walking in one direction when not touching the stick and if you aim, the cross hair will move much more slowly in one direction than any of the others. It's also been getting progressively worse - it started out as just the right analogue stick and rebooting the Vita would solve the issue for several hours but now it's both stucks and rebooting will rarely sort it out and if it does it only lasts for 10 mins or so.

Just to top it off, guess what.... I've been using the same case as you guys.
