I have returned my vita also to Sony.
The left stick is u/s. after completing Unchartered I bought Unit 13 at the airport to play on a trip.
After playing the demo I had no problem so bought the game, however the character just ran forward all the time. I loaded unchartered to test that and it did the same just ran forward.
The case I use is also the soft PS case sold at the store I bought the Vita.
After taking it to PC World and waiting 2 weeks for a repair, I called them to see how it was going and they told me it has to be sent to Sony by myself. So for future if you have a problem go direct to Sony if its with 2 weeks or close to purchase.
I am waiting on my Vita being returned after a week so I will see how it is.
Im looking forward to playing Unit 13 and also going to buy Resistance, after a month of not having it.
I have bought a Thrustmaster SPF hard case for when I do get it back the soft case seems to not protect the sticks as far as this blog is suggesting.

The issue you have mentioned with the analogue sticks is not something I have come across before. If this is occurring on the console it would indicate there is an issue with the unit (either the stick calibration or something else has caused this problem).
I can think why this would appear on the Vita after a period of time however? i.e. 30 minutes of play for instance. ![]()

I have the same problem. During gameplay the calibration for one or both of the sticks jumps off centre. When playing unit 13 this results in the reticule drifting to the right, for example. The sticks will stay at this callibration until the until is power cycled.
This is NOT a hardware problem but is in fact a software bug which occurs when the vita tries to get online in the background whilst you play. Since putting the vita into flight mode the problem has not occured and I have also noticed a significant improvement to battery life.
I'm not sure if the issue is related to wifi or cellular. Could well be a problem with connecting to vodafone as I have not tried other sims. Renders the whole connectivity function inoperable though which is a shame.

Hi guys,
One of you asserts this may be a software related issue rather than hardware.
I would say this is more likely to be hardware related however, as if it was software there would be many more users affected. Having said that if you do have this calibration problem, it might be worth checking you have the latest system software update for the Vita and attempting to restore default settings. Failing that I would give support a call to help further.
