Vita Unable to Connect Via USB to PS3 System

My PlayStation Vita, EU Model 3G + WiFi 8GB, isn't able to connect to my PlayStation 3 System 40GB (Upgraded to 320GB). It can connect to PC without any trouble though.

When I insert the cable into the PS3 and Vita, Content Manager responds and "Please Wait" is displayed, however this times out and displays the typical "Unable to connect" message you would normally get connecting to a PC without content manager installed. I'm not sure why this is and It's been a little frustrating to deal with. Anyone else having similar issues?

I've tried rebuilding the database and restoring the filesystem, however these didn't work.

UPDATE:

I've ran a full system backup and restore... Only took two days :'( And I'm still where I left off. Can anyone help me with this at all?

Re: Vita Unable to Connect Via USB to PS3 System

I am having the same issue and there doesn't appear to be anything out there on how to fix it. All Sony says it make sure the Content Manager is working and everything should work great. It doesn't. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software 3 times. One time it fixed the problem on for it to return a few days later.

When it does actually connect I don't see any video files on my PC. But they are there and I know they are formatted correctly. It is the software that is not allowing me to see them.

Give us a fix Sony!

Re: Vita Unable to Connect Via USB to PS3 System

Content manager doesn't install to the PS3, that's a separate issue probably relating to other things installed on the PC. To view videos they must be correctly formatted and in the relevant folder on the hard disk drive in the Video folder titled "PSVita".

My issue still hasn't been resolved and the PS3 still fails to connect to the PSVita :smileysad:

Mega Bump!

The PS3 now detects my vita, however at the very best it hangs displaying "Please Wait" on the Vita. The PS3 is now running 4.20 and the Vita, 1.69

Re: Vita Unable to Connect Via USB to PS3 System

I think you have either got a dodgy usb cable or usb sockets on the PS3. It sounds like one or more of the contacts is not making good contact. Is it the original cable? i know that some 3rd party cables can be a bit iffy

Re: Vita Unable to Connect Via USB to PS3 System

I have a broad variety of cables, both official and third party, and I'm afraid I get the same issue using each and every one of them :smileysad:

Hi strangeplaice,

What OS are you running on your PC, and do you have all the latest service packs for it?
