got a brand new vita from ebay day of release and with the right analog stick it turns really slow to the right, when i called sony they said that i need a receipt and if i cant get it they wont fix it he said the warranty wont cover it even though the console hasn't been out for 12 months!! any help????

Re: faulty vita and sony wont fix it????

It is normal to ask for proof of purchase (although I take your point about them not being available for 12 months yet so it must be covered by warranty) Sometimes warranty is not transferable though - I don't know Sonys warranty conditions. Did you buy it privately or from a store? If from a store then they are responsible and you shoud contact them

Re: faulty vita and sony wont fix it????

im sure if you print out the listing page and also your paypal invoice page this should act as a recipet, like myself i purchased one from "the hut" now how do i get a reciept from them???? sony will say print the sales e-mail so i cant see why it should be an issue for you.

p.s then again try calling sony again you prob got some customer person having a bad day as this happened with the ps3 when first released.... some had it changed some didnt.

Re: faulty vita and sony wont fix it????

:smileysurprised: 140 for an extention to what??? lol so if your extending it when did it run out haha

sometimes these people at customer services make me laugh :Stupid:

all i can say is try again, this happened with the ps3, or you could try domestic and general as they cover ps3's but dont know how much a vita would be.... my ps3's only cost £3 a month so maybe worth a try.

(thats if they do say well its not been a year since release yet!)

Re: faulty vita and sony wont fix it????

just read your post again,, and what your saying is (well sony are saying)

everyone who purchased online are not covered as they dont have a shop receipt???

this gets more and more funny, one day sony will get it right and treat customers with a little bit of respect.

But that's the thing. It's second hand and he bought it from a PRIVATE seller, not a shop

Re: faulty vita and sony wont fix it????

Hi guys,

If it was purchased second hand, then the warranty would be invalid regardless of the purchase place. However in this case it was purchased new however a receipt is needed to prove this was the case.

As Ebay has a combination of private and listed businesses, it can be a bit more difficult to verify the purchase. If purchased from a private seller as new, you would have to get their original receipt which may then cover you.

Alternatively if its a business, are you able to contact them in order for them to draw up a receipt and send it to you?
