Maybe you're the only one who bought it.
This update sucks - now I can't transfer my recordings to the XMB anymore and therefore I cannot transfer them to any other storage media or burn them to DVD.

Don't blame SCEE for that blame Freeview, that is the requirement they inforce. You can get around this by choosing "other" you then can export to the XMB then to a external drive (as long as it is not any bigger than 4gb)

There is a new article on Stuff http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/gadgets/4370335/
"A spokeswoman for Sony said the listings available on PlayTV's EPG were dependent on the TV network. Viewers would be able to see and record from nine and 10 days of listings for TVNZ and Maori TV respectively, but only the current and next programmes on Prime, TV3 and C4.
Sky spokesman Tony O'Brien said it had not made Prime's listings available because Sony could not track viewership numbers. Sky has also refused to make Prime listings available for Tivo's EPG."
So Sony is blaming the networks for the missing EPG data.
Sky's argument is bogus. They can't track viewer numbers for TV sets with Freeview built in yet they still have the MHEG5 EPG listings available on those devices.

I have the same problem, seems to be related to the background recording, it stopped recording anything from switch off now, I have had to delete it and reinstall 1.30 from the disk to get it to work again

Hi wilt64!
Actually, I have selected "other" as a country and there's no possibility to transfer the recordings. I'm from Finland and decided to participate this discussion because it seems to be active here.

You should find a "copy to home menu" function appear when you select a recording in the library view and press enter or x. This copies it to the XMB.
I'd be very surprised if it's missing if you've selected "other". I'm also surprised it's missing for Finland, thought it was just Australians who missed out.

Yes, it's missing. It was there before the update.

Perhaps try going into setup and change location again?
That did the trick, thanks!
Also, now the EPG clock shows the correct time even here in Finland so it seems that there are more pros than cons in this update after all. Now all I'm missing is the 120x fast forward / rewind.

This PlayTV update sucks big time!
i downloaded it for the downstairs FAT PS3 and its stuffed it up now..
i cant set recordings early or later to finish...just keeps creating multiple blank copies in the Library.
or creates errors in the schedule section saying it couldnt record for some reason etc...
plus ive noticed now when u set a recording it will power on about 10 mins before the actual program starts...before i think it was 3 mins or so..
im not updating my 2nd SLIM PS3 until i hear this gets fixed..
