A quick poll about the upcoming update that will NOT be free.

It is only regarding the 'social networking' features, not series link and tvtv program guide (as we will not get that in Aus)

Just to see if the PlayTV devs are lying, or if all these 'social networking' features are actually wanted by the community.

IMO, I would rather them fix the bugs before making us pay for useless features no-one wants.

IF they want us to pay for it then it looks like it'll be on the torrent sites shortly after it becomes live.
There is no way I'm EVER going to pay for a software update.

That's true, since the last upgrade nothing seems to work anymore, even recording a program became a problem !!!

I got the social networking update for free via a redeem code that was in the box with my PlayTV unit, therefore I didn't have to buy it separately. This poll didn't have any options to suit me, so I didn't fill it in.

As for stuff "not working any more" -- what stuff is that? Everything works fine for me after all the recent updates, including recording.

This poll makes no sense, here in New Zealand the PSN update IS free, when you purchase PlayTV as part of the deal you get a redeem code that allows you to get the update free.

Fix existing problems??? what problems mine is working fine.....

* It's ok. I did not request any of the social networking features, but think they are good and might buy it. 6% (18)

Play TV Hanging at Intro Screen..........Seems like you have problems mate, interesting SCEE have sold in Australia and NZ 1000's of PlayTV PVR's in fact PlayTV is one of the most popular PVR's in New Zealand.....majority of punters are very happy.....

Um, you were the one asking forum members "what problems". You actually need to read the threads not just comment on the title of the threads. Sorry you've taken my post so personally, thought you were actually interested in some of the issues other community members were experiencing. My bad...

PS: Take a look at the poll results, 232 persons who responded to the poll out of 291 are experiencing problems with PlayTV.
