G'day Codez,
Gavsta72 got it spot on, VHF was the reason I could still pick up the Melbourne channels and then be able to use the "Other" location. On Sony's part it's pretty dumb that Australia can't use the XMB feature, cause it's a great feature.
I have the current update, the only fault I have is the blu-ray remote only letting me key in on the numeric pad oneHD and not much else.
Considering the amount of time we have being waiting you would think the channel selection would work at least with the update!

PlayTV was supposed to have this feature!

It looks like I will have to buy 500 gig Hard drives. Although, that wont help with editing ads or burning to DVD for storage.
500 gig isn't really that much when 1 hour of HDTV can be 4.5 gig of TV....

4.5gb you say.... I recorded One HD the other night (1hr 5 minutes for UFC Wired) and it ended up taking up 7.1gb - altho this is a 1080i channel, so clearly 1080 res takes up more than just 'hd'
Seriously all they would have to have done is somehow tagged the file you exported with the serial number of the PS3 that did it if they were worried people would distribute copies of FREE TO AIR tv..... geez
