I did rethink my positions about base-ravaging because now I understand that it is not just about players, it is also about the entire B&B mechanics that intrinsically leads to base-ravaging: at first you use it to shelter thinking that is rewarding, but then you learn that it is far more effective if you use it as an offensive tool.
Just like gunpowder the B&B passed from being a tool for fireworks to a tool for cannons...and who would use fireworks in a war game?
Now changing something of the B&B won't be the solution since minor tweaks like cheaper defense costs (shields, bunkers, etc...) or the introduction of indestructible buildings/defenses, seriously risk to negate the hole concept of B&B so LBI instead should introduce another mechanic to balance things.
Now this is what LBI said, 2 months ago, at the very beginning of this thread: "We are looking into ways to discourage this type of behavior and promote better building over-all."
At this pint I really need to know what has been done in this direction.

bravo bravo have an oscar you muther....... do you really think i buy in to this foking punch lines from wat butkisser in that meeting you guys had wen this subject came up and he told you to tell the fans this ru foking serious its not rocket science you stop the base rapeing by puting structures that can give players a place to hide in put weapons in those builldings so we can fight them off its simple you see a buch off.guys running about empty space you base rape you see builldings but no enemy running about you change the way you play.
i pray the big maps have some builldings to hide in please god of warhawk hear me please the maps are really disapointing tho no charcacter no life warhawk maps felt like people lived their before we blew the hellout off it this map look arcade maps fps maps stupid
they go and put a base on the high ground opposite the main base on the space map and you tell me you dont encourage base rapeing all people do is go up their build a sheild and just stay their all game bombing the home base ru guys stupid or what at least move it back a little further away it should be used as a supply base to reload and get your stuff together but its used as a base rapeing base
if you gave me 5 foking years to make a 2nd comeing of the great warhawk game my game would wipe that smile of dylan face they have a really good good game starhawk but it can be great amazing never sleep game to play everyday everynight but you guys are foking up big time change the small details you get a top class game in starhawk

How about just let the community police itself a little bit, the reason there are so many structures in home base, is because of the huge influx of new players from PS + AND UC3, not used to this new dynamic, in almost every match I play I have to educate new players on the importance of saving build for forward bases/garages when escaping with the flag.

Or maybe a small rift or point bonus for 10 team mates spawning into a forward base (pod beacon) would encourage more people to get out of home base. I have been in the Beta since the beginning and I think it just takes some people more time than others to get used to the new B&B dynamic.

Warhawk had buildings with weapons. Warhawk had severe base rapes regardless.(that's because some off you unfair players would switch sides dont think i dont see what you are doing the base raped happened only when you let them take all the bases and pin you down to homebase im ground soldier go look my stats you see im a soldier i push on im so happy wen i play with guys that play with no fear and fight them dam it but everyone hides and camps. at the begining 2007 warhawk did not have players that base raped they came over time. ) ctf zonez tdm collection hero all had points were you could capture the zone and get some weapons drop a mine and off you go .123456 etc were are those point were you can hold the enemy back in starhawk
Warhawk also had hover mode -- a mode the ground level could not keep up with. Add the TOW and the binocs and you have an unbeatable combination.
(this is what is a real pain in the ass a player who learned them skills with a bunch off other pilots makes the base rape very tough but still in warhawk you had the feeling you can fight back rpg a few hawks mine the gates push on forwards find a bunker take cover check the map reload and off you go. in starhawk feels like theirs no direction to go lost in an empty space !!!!!
i suppourt build to fight idea i think its amazing idea but people are buillding base with as much turrets beem guns in them as possable half way tru the game i can not builld anything not even a wall for cover why do people do this place turrets all over the place
this game can go either way at the moment for me i hope the big maps have more character and life to them i will still play starhawk but not as much i think i played warhawk

Indestructible buildings won't stop base-ravaging: people will simply camp outside buildings, trap players inside shooting trough the windows and lobbing grenades as well...it will be just like Killzone 2.
Sure we will be able to last longer but don't forget that we will have to land outside buildings, in the open, and then make our way into the barracks: with 2-3 warhawks/razorbacks camping outside it won't be an easy task.
Also B&B will be useless since, when surrounded by the enemy team, any structure would last few seconds simply delaying death.
Now makeing impossible to use B&B in the enemy base (no way to built any structure, even turrets, inside the enemy base) is probably the only feasible thing to do but even that will just limit, not eliminate, the base-ravaging.
Sadly any other solutions is either too complex or would require to redesign the entire multiplayer:
-Surrender vote, even it is a great idea, won't eliminate base-ravaging but simply ease the pain of loosing.
-Grief reports won't stop base-ravaging it either...not to mention that grief-ed players will grief back.
-Having the possibility to set the base anywhere on the map, before the match stars, would require to redesign all the maps and we know that's impossible now.
-Indestructible buildings will just end up in base-siege...and negate the hole concept of B&B.
-Underground passages would require to redesign all maps too.
-New respawning system would require too much time to make, time LBI doesn't have.
