I think, that we need to see all enemy buildings, because we need to prepare for our attacks.
Can you imagine, that you rush into a zone to capture it, but gonna get totally destroyed, because you couldn`t have seen all its defences and structures layout on the map before?
Starhawk is meant to be a fast paced game and observing a base from all angles, before storming it seems like a huge brake to the gameplay, while a quick glance at a minimap makes the game still fast and fluent.
Yes, I destroy enemy bases both from a mech and on foot, but don`t forget, that it works both ways. Both me and my enemy can see the others B&B efforts and react to it.
Though, I wouldn`t be against a special, new and expensive structure, which would work as a radar jammer to hide everything from the enemy in the area of its placing.

I think that this is a great idea, honestly. Here are my general thoughts:
I really think this would add a lot to the game.

- The fog of war should exist for your team on any location that another member of your team hasn't visted in the last 5-10 seconds. The general idea is that your team will naturally communicate with each other and therefore if your teammate can see it you will have some idea of what's there. If they die, or leave, you'll lose track of the area and no longer have knowledge of it's location.
- The radius should be basic line-of-sight. If you can clearly see it with the naked eye it should be revealed on the map.
- The enemies starting spawn point should always show as a location, but not inherently clear the fog of war around it. You should know about where it is (say, from radio signals) but that wouldn't give you any indication of it's status or the area around it.
I really think this would add a lot to the game.
good idea

Good idea. It should make battles more interesting. This way people can actually build a base behind enemy lines without being exposed to every enemy team out there.

aaah, Interesting idea, but for the wrong reasons.
To me Starhawk/Warhawk is about watching what your enemy is doing, then figuring out ur best actions to counter battle them, in WH it was about capturing the right spawn locs, and now it's about building the proper structure to defend/attack.
I believe the only reason fog would be useful is to assist with beacon protections, especially on dust, it is quite tuff to branch out. But I think there is a better solution here...
But still an interesting idea.
