Hey everyone!
While I was playing Starhawk, I had the enemy's flag and was running it back to the base on foot. I was under fire and I was really hoping that someone would come whizzing by with a jeep to pick me up and I realized, how great would it be if when you press L3 you would sent out a big, obvious "HELP!!!!" signal to everyone on your team?
It could be anything from your character firing off a flare to giving you one of those big see-threw-anything markers like the flags have in CTF. Perhaps it would also appear to the enemy team as well, so that there would be a downside to using it.
In that same vein, I think that whenever someone is carrying a flag they should have the flag icon broadcasted over their head and on radar just like the flag does when its in the base. It should be a big, team effort to get the flag to the base or to stop the enemy team from doing so, with everyone swooping in to aid in the fight.
This way it would have more of a tug-of-war dynamic, instead one one lone guy sneaking into the enemy base and running off with the flag while everyone else wonders where he went!
What do you guys think?

Being able to call for help when carrying the flag is a great idea. A lot of the time for a flag run to be successful you need a tag-team effort, one flag carrier gets shot to shreds and someone else picks the flag up.
The main focus of CTF should be capturing the flag, so encouraging people to help their teammates out can only be a good thing.

Good idea!
I agree that we always need our teammates help when grabbing the flag. It's such a relief when you're legging it out of the enemy base and your guys pull up in a Razorback.
I think it's gonna be worth using a headset on CTF as much as possible. Of course, if you've got pals on there then at least you can count on them to help you out.
My problem at the moment is not knowing where your flag is on the map after it's grabbed. Once it reaches the edge of the map, there's no way to zoom out and know exactly where the flag has got to.

I tend to spawn garages but only at a safe distance away eg. Acid Sea, I spawn one across the bridge to the right. Tried doing it as soon as I took the flag, but trying to find a build 'spot' whilst under fire was a nightmare! So it's always good to have some assistance until I can reach my garage.

Coordination with a mic feels rare to me. By that I mean I don't often see people with mics in game. I like the flare/call for help idea but for all modes.

I dont think it would be good for all modes and in CTF can only use it when you have the flag and has like a 30 second cool down or something, to keep from players spaming flares into the sky. I would say yes to this only because I have no speakers on the monitor I play on, nor do I have a mic, so things like this would be great for people who dont have the best available.
EDIT: lol im lucky to play at all.

Yeah, this is a good idea. I've already been thinking about that, when Warhawk first came out.
Not everyone has a mic, is an english speaker, or wants to listen to the sounds of the game.
I played like million Warhawk battles with just a music with absolutely no game sounds at all, so I'd welcome a feature like that a lot.
Just a single flare shot and everyone knows, what's going on. No need to always rely on my clanmates, or Warhawk veterans. I believe, that most n00bs would really try to help. I judge that from my BETA experience. Most guys there actually try to help, when they SEE, what's needed to be done.

That's for sure. Mics helped an insane amount. Even if two players can coordinate their plan, it boosts a team's success rate a lot. However, as I said, I don't often see mics in games now a days.
