I am starting to think the damage is fine for the Starhawks especially when they have the ability be be airborne or used as a ground attack. Many times I have had one swoop down transform, kill me with one set of rockets and then fly off again before I have had chance to say Pina Colada. Think about if there were 2 or 3 attacking a base and the strength was increased it could be the end for any opposing team. It is so easy for a Starhawk attacking on the ground who get's damaged to just fly off and repair before coming back for more.
There were some pretty brutal baserapes going on last night with 3-4 guys in mechs stomping around the enemy homebase. Since I couldn't switch teams to help I just left lol. Was boring.
About Dylan changing the flight modes, I saw someone posted this reply they got from him in an email:
"And thank you for bringing Warhawk up. It was a great game and one that I am very proud of. I loved the way it felt. However, the unpredictability of Warhawk's missile dodge was very odd. Even someone as yourself must remember the time in Warhawk where the missiles would hit when they shouldn't have or miss when they should have hit. This, to a large degree, was due to the purely organic missile scrubbing system. As you can imaginefactoring network latency for the missile scrub solution is of vital importance and this is one of the reasons why we are trying the dodge approach inStarhawk."
Sounds like they're unlikely to go back to the old system at the moment.

ok here is what i think.. (many of you will hate me for this)
There should be one standard flight system for every player in the start. when you get to certain level you can unlock the "Advance or Proflight". it will give some breathing space to new comers to learn the flight system and hold their own in air.
REASON for that is new comers will not last 3 seconds in air with all tht proflight beast from warhawk dominating space.
it seems like im shooting myself in the foot as im also a proflight from warhawk but the thing is it will be unfair for new comers. FAIR IS FUN
i was actually playing warhawk when i got the code so i downloaded it and played it and when i jumped in hawk, it took me 2 to 3 mins to get into the groove. i shot down 3 or 4 hawks without breaking sweat (they might be normal flight in warhawk).
it is not going to be fair for people who never played warhawk.
peace

Question, could a tutorial mode overcome this issue?
Cause unless they were separated from Pro and Noob then it could be even more unfair on those that do not have the extra abilities due to not knowing them?

Not really .... Will you be able to fly against Kurby--, crazytrini, CinkCobra or MikeyMonty after a flight tutorial if you never played warhawk?
1 flight system in the beginning will keep everyone on the same level everyone has to learn it ...Keep in mind its not warhawk 2 its spiritual successor of warhawk...

exactly, but also a flight filter on the lower ranked servers?

people worry about noobs too much, i appreciate they need a little help but not at the cost of sapping the fun out of the game. i would say alt accounts are a much bigger problem for noobs than some proflight vet they are never likely to meet.
Also warhawk players are allready at a distinct advantage in all aspects of the game simply because they understand all the controls and how the weapons and weapon wheel works.
So in truth to really cater for the noob it would need a complete overhaul of of all the controls not just flight and fill the beta with noobs not warhawk players giving them an advantage straight away.
