Can you do barrel rolls with the right analog stick? I know you can press X on the jetpack which boosts it upwards, and quickly drains your fuel haha

I'm pretty sure you can.

I felt that the manoeuvrability in advanced mode was very similar to that in Warhawk.

 

You can descend very quickly in a jetpack using one of the buttons on the right. O maybe.

Since we no longer get points for stealing the flag, how about an option to drop the flag so we can use the jetpack if necessary.

In my opinion I think we should only be allowed to build certain buildings in certain areas, such as in the main base or near a spawn point.

I've seen many people steal a flag, build a garage in our base and simply drive away...

Could there be a better way to locate the flag once it's been stolen.

Now i have to open the map and look for it.

And a more clearer warning that the flag is not in the base.

Yesterday in a match, i had stolen the flag of the opponent, was at the home base and our flag was captured and lost again.

But there was no one to reclaim the flag. They did not know or did not care that our flag was missing.

Re: Starhawk Beta - Features/Other Feedback

Here are some thoughts after a few hours of play:

 

Advanced Flight needs to be able to scrub missiles by flying Warhawk style. Doing a canned barrel roll like Starfox really takes the teeth out of the dogfighting. Leave the canned moves in for Normal Flight pilots and new players; but please let advanced players have fun in the air.

 

Aircraft need the normal flight, hold down R2 to accelerate, and double tap R2 to boost back. Two flight speeds significantly reduces the fun of flying.

 

Placing the transformation on the triangle button when in a Hawk would be a major benefit. I'm not fond of the BnB interface getting in the way of vehicle operation. Pressing Triangle is just a Warhawk reflex.

 

Holding down Square to change seats in the razorback should also return from the ground vehicles from Warhawk. Simplfied button usage is preferred to using more buttons for the sake of using more buttons.

 

Holding down R2 to run on the ground feels like something that should just be accomplished using the analogue thumb stick. I am never in a situation where I don't want to be running top speed.

 

Health regeneration for ground troops feels too generous. There's no peril when you can duck behind a wall for a few seconds and pop out refreshed in the enemy base.

 

I miss jump and grab for character high walls. As a player I'm forced to waste time back tracking to get to a better vantage point, where in Warhawk I could just pull myself up on the same ledge and maintain my forward momentum.

 

What's the reason we can no longer carry six grenades? I'm three short and being able to carry more grenades would be useful for removing enemy fortifications during a skirmish. My priority isn't on KDR, but on advancing my team's fortifications.

[SUGGESTION] Enemy Gate/Turret Hacking device?

Just an idea i thought of... I didn't really think too deeply into it so its probably terribly bad lol...

 

At the moment, there is only 1 way of getting through enemy gates, which is by destroying them. This could be a long process even if you have the right weapons e.g rocket launcher. This also makes CTF a very hard task where the flag carrier can't get through the enemy gate without having to go around or destroy it. I understand it is a team game therefore the team need to assist the flag carrier in destroying the enemy's walls... but I've experienced games where my team have been dominating the game whilst being unable to break through their defense as they constantly build new walls/gates...

 

I was thinking maybe there could be a hacking device (only limited to one in the whole map maybe?) which allows the player to hack into a gate to allow access to both sides (or even switch the gate to the other team). Maybe allowing it to even hack into enemy turrets in order to switch its allegience? Obviously because this is a very powerful device it should be very limited in terms of use and possession...

Stolen flag

Ok i have played some more hours.

I have said it before, but i really don't like the way you have to search for the flag once it hase been stolen.

I believe (i have not played it for a while) in warhawk there was a clear icon in your wich you could follow. You could jump in a hawk or jeep and intercept quickly.

I have stolen a flag on foot multiple times and when i was beyond the enemy home base there was no one stopping me. I could just walk it to home base easy.

When the enemy flag is in the home base there's a big icon in the screen, while everybody knows where it is. Maybe the can use that icon once it's been stolen. Then you can intercept or recollect quickly.

Breaching charge is whats needed that only work on walls & gates!!!!

And the resupply spawn for them is a few mins long so you have to think about using them!!!

When people die and drop all their guns and grenades - bring back the pack.  Simple and easy single pick up. This isn't sonic the hedgehog.  Shouldn't have to run around collecting grenades like rings.

 

Guns at bases need to be easier to find.  A simple glow/shine feature isn't enough when the maps are too dark.  Warhawk was nice because each weapon had a solid color glow.  You knew where they were from a distance and knew what you were getting.  Simplifying this will make it an easier game to pick up.
