Starhawk Update 1.1.1

 


 

Today's 1.1.1 update for the Starhawk Private BETA was deployed during the regular server maintenance at 2pm Central and contained the following changes:

 

  • New hybrid Organic/Canned missile scrub system.
  • Prepped engine for Classic Arcade Flight (currently disabled).
  • New per-weapon reticules for Troop, Hawk & Razorback.
  • Fixed voice drop-outs between games.
  • Added Team Deathmatch Gameplay mode.
  • Added control panel to Supply Bunker.
  • Friend's games can now be joined via Uplink.
  • Added LAG Switch protection.
  • Fixed numerous bugs and crashes.
  • Fixed bug that was resetting player level when quitting a game.
  • Fixed JetPack CTF flight exploit.
  • Fixed Announcement sorting.
  • Fixed server-list scrolling bug.
  • Fixed crash related to Air Mines.
  • Added XMB display of Starhawk Game Status.
  • Added functionality to send friends XMB messages from the Uplink.
  • Fixed bug preventing Drop Pods from destroying Auto-Turrets on impact
  • Added matchmaker now supports both CTF and TDM
  • Integrated better protections for trying to join full games
  • Fixed Missing Razorback 4x4 particle FX in Space Map
  • Added load-bar display when BETA updates are being downloaded.
  • Increased news ticker scroll speed in the Uplink
  • Fix bug related to PSN icons not rendering properly in the Uplink


New Hybrid Missile Scrub:
Due to player feedback we have we have now developed new system for scrubing missiles in Starhawk. The goal of this system is to support *BOTH* the organic, free-from maneuvers from Warhawk and the easier "canned" dodges that were included in our first release of the Starhawk Private BETA. We are excited about this new system and we strongly feel that it will give players an accessible yet deep system that supports both newbie and hardcore players. Please know that this new system included with the 1.1.1 Update does not represent "final" tuning -- we are planning to release several updates next week to tune the new missile scrub system so please give us feedback!

Prepping for Classic Arcade Flight:
Also due to feedback from our community, we are in the process of re-enabling the Warhawk Classic Arcade flight mode. It is currently disabled in the flight options screen until we resolve a few more issues and perform a QA pass on it but we are diligently working on it and will deploy an update to the Starhawk Private BETA as soon as we "clear" the feature.

 

Stats, SkillScore and Level Reset:
Durring today's maintenance we've also reset all player Stats, SkillScore and Level. This will need to be done from time to time during the course of the Private BETA. We know it is never a good feeling to have your level re-set but it's an important part of the Private BETA process, so thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Today's 1.1.1 Update was quite large so please take some time to test the game tonight and this weekend and give us feedback -- we *are* listening and greatly appreciate all of you BETA-Testing Starhawk!!

Starhawk Private BETA Update: 1.1.2

The 1.1.2 update for the Starhawk Private BETA was deployed during unplanned maintenance at 8pm Central on Friday, December 16th and contained the following change:

  • Fixed bug related to improper TDM score-limit being set through Match Maker.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused last week but we wanted to make sure it was resolved before the weekend.

Starhawk Private BETA Update: 1.1.3

Today's 1.1.3 update for the Starhawk Private BETA was deployed during the regular server maintenance at 2pm Central and contained the following changes:

  • Increased Sniper Rifle rate of fire.
  • Increased Grenade damage vs. Razorback 4x4.
  • Reduced Rift cost of Launch Pad (6 to 4).
  • Reduced Rift cost of Hawk (4 to 2).
  • Reduced Rocket Launcher blast radius.
  • Increased Homing Missile acquisition/turning speed.
  • Re-enabled Air Mines in both MP maps.
  • Fixed inconsistent Homing/Swarm lock-on behavior.
  • Fixed TDM pre-game scoring bug.
  • Fixed Beam Turret damage bug.

Reduced Rocket Launcher Blast Radius:
Our last update was intended to promote more rocket use -- and boy did it! However, it was a bit too far so we have reduced the area of effect radius. It is still larger than it was originally but it is smaller than what was included in the 1.1.1 update.

Increased Homing Missile Acquisition/Turning Speed:
While we very much want the Homing Missile to have some minimum amount of forward trajectory before it starts blending into its target tracking mode, what we had previously was too lengthy. This update sees a significant reduction in that time so that Homing Missiles start turning to track their targets more quickly.

Re-Enabled Air Mines in All MP Maps:
With the recent fix of a bug related to air-mines, we have re-enabled the Air Mine pickup in both Acid Sea and Space maps.

Fixed Inconsistent Homing/Swarm Lock-on Behavior:
The two weapon systems were not properly respecting the lock-on setting in the options screen and this was resulting in the Homing Missile starting to auto-lock and the Swarm Laser requiring a "press-n-hold" before they would start locking. Now both weapons will have the same button behavior and you can toggle it on/off in the options screen.

Fixed Beam Turret Damage Bug:
In the 1.1.1 update, there was a bug that resulted in Beam Turrets dealing *FAR* more damage than they were supposed to. This is now fixed and the damage is now back down and properly reflecting the the values we have assigned. We'll continue to track feedback from the community and make further changes to the Beam Turret damage as needed.

The LightBox Interactive team is currenty investigating a bug related to unresponsive Flag behaivor in CTF. We'll keep you all posted -- Thank you for your patience!

CTF Bug In 1.1.3 Identified

The team has isolated the CTF defect that results in players not being able to pick-up the flag. We are currently developing a fix and our goal is to deploy it as soon as possible. Stay tuned for more updates and thanks again for your patience!

The 1.1.4 update for the Starhawk Private BETA was deployed during unplanned maintenance at 8:30pm Central on Tuesday, December 20th and contained the following changes:

  • Fixed bug causing flags in CTF to be unresponsive.
  • Fixed bug causing battle feed not to be displayed.
