Re: Starhawk Beta - Vehicle Feedback

Vehicle generators are fickle. A lot of the button presses in the beta are not as reliable as button presses in Warhawk.

One issue I've noted is that unlike Warhawk; if your player character is not facing the panel the Use option will not activate. And this is when I'm already standing close enough to activate and I am looking at the button; but my character isn't - I'd rather this not be the case just for the sake of efficiency.

Tonight I was playing and grabbed the enemy flag. Jumped down to my jeep, did some quick repairs with the repair tool, and was standing in the left driver side with the Press Square to use prompt; pressed square and I didn't hop in the vehicle.

The enemy team then managed to stick a grenade where the sun doesn't shine and ruined my day. :smileysad:

The camera behavior when you hop in a jeep as a passenger is also disconcerting. The camera does not snap to attention directly behind your player character or the vehicle; it does this rubber band catch-up thing which is really disconcerting. It would be much better if the camera just switched to behind the vehicle if you enter the passenger seat, or behind your character if you jump onto the gun turret.

A Razorback I was driving got stuck on some railing on the Acid sea stage. This wouldn't be a problem in Warhawk because vehicles were free and plentiful; however here it costs me game currency and time to obtain one. It would be nice if there were taller guard rails on the bridges to prevent razorbacks from getting stuck - or make them reclaimable.

- SUGGESTION -
--- 2 seater hawks

- EXPLAINATION -

Someone else highlighted how in Starhawk you can't carry a passenger in the hawk like you could in warhawk. I think starhawk more so then warhawk is a prime candidate for being able to carry a passenger.

Being able to carry a passenger in the warhawk was always a huge plus point of the game and helped in many stategic situations, it encouraged teamwork, and was always a really friendly gesture when an ally offered you a lift. This has been lost in starhawk

However it makes more sense in starhawk. A passenger in a car can now fire his weapons. So imagine when a hawk transforms into a walking mech, the passenger could also be firing at things whilst his driver is firing with the hawk! The passenger could rocket beam turrets and what not, it just makes sense. People have been complaining A LOT about how the mech is under powered now and disadvantaged on the ground. Well it makes so much sense to be able to carry a passenger with you in the backseat firing away. And the smart hawker could even grab a repair tool gun, and while the driver is firing away, the passenger could be continually repairing the hawk (albeit maybe this should repair the hawk at a slow rate otherwise it may become invincible). Another thing to help the mech not be destroyed so fast. The passenger in a warhawk could do nothing but here in starhawk it seems the perfect opportunity. I just think it makes so much sense

Starhawk Beta - Vehicle Feedback

Name of the vehicle: Razorback

Description: It's to easy, to get road-killed.

Suggestion: Add the possibility to roll away, like in most other 3rd person shooters.

Re: Starhawk Beta - Vehicle Feedback

Was on the recieving end of a good old jet pack rape last night. Multiple enemies in the home base flying round, all suplemented by mech rape :smileyvery-happy:

I must say I did get a few kills and proceeded to give my victim a generous *****.:smileywink:

The swoop and knife tactic being used was especially irritating:smileysad:

@bowes foundation

I love using the jetpack and I do SOMETIMES do the old knife and fly trick but I know its an issue for some people so last night, instead of knifing, I just used the shot gun instead. just to see if it made a difference. It doesn't really. I was killing people as quick with the shotgun as with the knife. So even if the knife is altered somehow, people will just use the shotgun instead

People just need to be aware of the radar. I can't stress that enough. I had a few trying to knife me from behind last night but I saw them coming on the radar and so I evaded it and killed them instead. Radar. Radar. Radar. Starhawk has the feature of displaying enemies on screen and on radar far more then in warhawk, so use it to your advantage

And besides, is there any difference between that and running along when a Hawk missiles your face off? There's nothing you can do in that situation. But with the jetpack situation there is something you can do. Keep an eye on the radar.

can you imagine the whining about base raping if they allowed a passenger in  mech to shoot. I personally think it is a bummer you can't take passengers in starhawk. it was a great method of teamwork in warhawk.

Make it a room option for whoever is hosting the game........

But just as a passenger/observer not a gunner......

@mikeymonty

Well you say about base raping if a passenger was allowed in a hawk but really, what is the difference between that and the tanks in warhawk?

What's the difference:

A mech walking around a base ripping it apart with a passenger in the back repairing the hawk

Vs

A tank in warhawk driving into a base blasting everything while a passenger sits in the back repairing the tank

There is no difference. In fact tanks are more dangerous as they are faster. And tanks weren't a problem in warhawk. So if it's basically the same thing, I say allow passengers in hawks!

Issue: prefer the square button to change driver position Name of vehicle : Razorback Map: All Suggestion to improve : Just change the switch back position back to the square button.
