I have to agree about the knife. There's no skill involved, it's just pot luck, and when you do get the kill it doesn't look right at all. You normally end up teleporting on the enemy's back in an unnecessary killing animation.

 

Either scrap it all and go back to the Warhawk style of slashing the enemy up close or just use the previous style. At least that one looked ok.

i like the knife :smileysad: it's so much more fun and brings back the WH sense of "stabby stabby fun" where you could go on a rampage slashing, maybe you wouldnt get the kill but it was funny :smileyvery-happy:

Diggin the new sound of Assault rifles, way better than the original. Now they actually sound like they are shooting bullets instead of spitting them. Sure it sounds a bit like high rate of fire SMG but thats good enough for a scifi assault rifle.

I found out yesterday that there is a limit to the distance the sniper rifle fires.

Was shooting down air mines from the homebase and once you go to the tree area (on the left if facing the enemy base), the sniper rifle failed to blow them up.

Try the same in regards to the auto turret and a stationary troop and again, not even a hit marker.

It wasn't too far away as I can clear still see the head of the troop and the "eye" of the turret.

My conclusion is that is disappears after a certain distance...... For a sniper rifle that is a pretty s*** idea

Rocket Launcher:  I like the return to the warhawk style of locking onto your target by holding the R1 button now, however locking on only occurs when zoomed in with the L1 button.  This slows down your ability to target hawks, especially if you have 2 or more buzzing around your base at close range, zooming in can take your target out of frame.

 

Solution:  Allow rocket launcher to lock onto targets when not zoomed in.

Wow, the new knife is depressingly horrible.  The animations look cool but end up getting me killed more often than not.  I feel like a flailing spaz now things are much more random.  With the old system it was a bit awkward but the feel was much more badass skilled space samarai.  To fix the awkwardness of the old knife simply have the camera aim the dash as with other weapons.  I miss the old knife. 

 

Suggestion:  combine both!  when holding down run (r2) use the old style (with aiming based on camera) and when walking or standing still use the new style (with shorter animations)

 

Otherwise, I like most of the changes.  The assualt rifle is a bit more useful now and I like the new sound.

Do they already lock on without holding the L1 button.

 

Hold down R2 it will still lock on and then release R2 to fire.

 

Takes a while to lock on admittedly but it does lock on.

I enjoy the knifing system...and knifing turrets so much fun now!!!

 

The graphics are amazing for getting the kill, it will just take practice getting the timing, and a little luck.

 

They just have to work on some of the dynamics...for example somebody get the kill animation on me, but then it goes back to normal gameplay a split second late, as I run away, then all of a sudden I'm dead, so just have to find a way to lock in that animation when it is done successfully.

 

All the other weapon balances seem great...sniper distance issue might be a concern since as mentioned the bullets don't travel far enough.

Can someone tell me why I am not able to lock onto a hawk with a rocket launcher when playing now? Is it the game mode that I have been playing? [triad]
I absolutely love the bike and tank so I do not really wish to switch modes, but not being able to lock onto a hawk is becoming problematic when they're base ravaging with the torpedo and homing missiles...
