LBI, you've took the volley of swarms down, reduced the blast radius, increased the damage from grenades etc.
I ask that you increase the swarms back to four, simply just to re-balance the mech a little and these swarms are only swarms in a higher number than 2!
They are beautiful the way the progress across the landscape, with the recent update, you actually visibly only see one.
Just a suggestion for the meantime.

This way a bunker would not be required.
That was one of my ideas in the suggestion/hate thread. No matter what weapon a ground troop is holding, it gives them a fighting chance up against the mechs rather than them having to search for a specific weapon, such as an RPG, that focuses entirely on the mech rather than the person driving it.

holy cow people, have all of you ever played warhawk??? when you spawned you had a pistol,a blade and grenades then you had to go and find better weapons if they were there, and warhawk was about teamwork, on starhawk if you stay in one base you will get owned if you are not organised fact is if you stayed in 1 base on warhawk you will get owned as well, people you use strategy, you get out the home base you create another base where there is rift, people i have been base raped in starhawk and warhawk and its no different, you take the mech out by spawning on his head for gods sake, i must admit the base raping in starhawk is a lot more enjoyable because of this little thing, you have the great wall of noob every game which is stupid and they even place pod beacons at the home base where you can already spawn, people the mech has been nerfed but the big problem is the players who can not be bothered to do teamwork, i could take a mech out before it was nerfed now its hardly any skill to do it, everyone has there opinions, but noobs you need to learn quickly and not just stand there waiting for death, get out find barrels instead of waiting for rift at home base you will get it quicker else where!!!!!!!

Played last night much better. Lots still use the hawks, but you cant overpower with them. People were using lots of different tactics and the games were a lot closer. had a blast

Yea, i played last night as well and it looks like the whole 1.08 thing is overblown.
They aren't that much weaker, i still managed to get a lot of kills in a mech/hawk.
It can even withstand a lot of attack from the beam tower so i think people just need to try it for themselves rather than freak out about it.

Whats weak about them?
One of Warhawks biggest issues is that they were too overpowered. It would literally kill games.
More balance is needed and currently the hawks are still stronger and faster than ground troops.
1.08 has improved Starhawk.

Granted some spawn points on Warhawk had better weapons than others if others had'nt grabbed them 1st...
But you cant just run off & find a rocket launcher on Starhawk we have to build the bunker to get it & when your getting base raped its a little hard to evade rampaging Mech's when you only have 2 bars of Rift.....

Let me summarise. Ok so you have a dilemma, you've witnessed mechs ravaging bases pretty brutally.
Fair point but the betas been out a while and having small maps set up, of which there are only two, then players are going get good VERY QUICKLY.
Also you've decided to let warheads in to test it out. I appreciate that I really do, but we warheads have been playing its predecessor for almost 4 years, we are at the very tip of intuitive combat, we know how to take bases, destroy bases and cause havoc.
I put it to you that that's why games have been ravages. In a sense, having small maps, constantly repeated with warhawk veterans is a cocktail of carnage.
Your a victim of your own demise.
Listen to this for a scenario. My server put up for several hours at the weekend, attract some top flight players from my history as a warhead, very competitive games, not one single BASE-RAVAGE, and that's simply because everyone was organised, everyone anticipated conflict and everyone communicated.
I feel strongly that the essence of Starhawk the Hawk its self has completely lost its effect in the game. It doesn't fit the name of the game whatsoever, troops don't fear a mech no more because you've took on board the thoughts of un-organised newer players.
Us veterans and established players are deeply not happy with the new mech system, my biggest gripe is the reduction from a volley of 4 to 2 and the increased grenade effect. Grenades are elusive and hard enough to see anyways and with the volley of 2, hawx are just slow now and sluggish in terms of presence.
The game has took a large step backward in the sense of having that high octane war effect of warhawk.
Now I'm sure you listen carefully to what's been said on the ground v air debate and I respect and appreciate all your involvement but this latest update has unsettled a lot of people and I felt it had to be brought up accordingly.
I would like to add that you guys have done a great job with the game, and every update so far has been fair and its justification probably has suited it, you listen to us and react to us, but you guys are only human so mistakes can be made, with this recent update I think this has been the first.
Thanks for your time.

I agree with you Boom... The problem is not the mech's power, the issue seems to be people don't know how to move out the home base and no team work, you find that they build the great wall of China and wonder why they are getting there A$$ handed to them, I have seen this so many times where they have so many walls that you cant build anything else, at this point you have the other team coming at you with everything they have not just mechs... Once the walls have been destroyed, they attempt to build bunkers and "sometimes even spawn points
" spending there left over rift points, at this point its to late as what ever is built is being taken out by the other team.. Then the team that is being base raped can not get back into the game as there all out in the open and you can see where there going to spawn, so you can just run up blast with the shotgun hit R3 for a N00B knife kill what ever takes your fancy.
If they made buildings with weapon spawns in the home base that could not be destroyed this could provide some cover and allow the team to at least try and get back into it..
The mech should be powerfull against 1 - 2 troops not the otherway around... it seems if you get the jump on 1 troop then yea easy kill but if you land and the troop hits you with a nade and a few shoots of the rifle your in trouble..
The flip side is that we are only in the early stages of the BETA and we are yet to see the new weapons, buildings, vehicles bigger maps, 32 player games etc so it may even out.
However the new flight mode of the Mech, now thats another story altogether ![]()
