Ohhhh great reduce the flight time to 5 seconds.....

Now they dont seem to be in the air long enough to lock em up.....

I think lightbox makes drastic changes so it can get user feedback to meet ends at the middle. 

 

Also a ground troop has to be balanced with a troop with a vulture(jetpack) to make it even so I can see why they've done it.

This is such a more sensible discussion then the one in the American forums. Are Europeans just more mature generally? I tried having a mature discussion in the us forums like you guys are having but nobody would even try listening to my view as they branded me a noob for using a jetpack.

Yeah I agree with you guys, a middle ground needs to be met. The recharge time is the worst thing and the fuel needs to increase to at least reach distant areas more comfortably. Because at the moment the fuel red lines whenever you try to reach distant areas. Maybe lock on times should have been tested first. The OTS aiming I don't really have an issue with

I just hope LBI doesn't solely listen to the people inthe US forums who want the jetpack to disappear completely. Solely for the reason that they don't use them, they get slapped by them and they think your only a pro if you use a hawk

Well the thing is, if you can even get as far as coming to terms with a jetpack, then you're not even as much as a noob lol.

I'm not sure but I think that with the drastic change from two seconds recharge time to six that having a ten (or maybe eight) second flight time combined with the other changes would be acceptable as the jetpacks can't really be used for longer distant transport anymore and the recharge time alone results in ground troops having a much better chance.

I'm thinking the recent change just changes the use of the jetpack from a fully fledged vehicle to merely a supplement to ground battle. It changes how its used tactically. But we all know it's not the final state. This was a stop gap change as per Dylan's comments on the radio show. Fuel will be increased.

The way the jetpack is at the moment....I hate it. I've just come out of playing some games and, I just hate the jetpack how it is right now. It's slowed my game down so much. I just hate flying somewhere and then having to stand still and wait for the fuel to recharge. And that happens a lot. Yes the jetpack needed a downgrade, but the game is less fun now. On a large map like acid sea, the jetpack is basically pointless. You have to drive or use the hawk.

I hope what Dylan Jobe said at the end was a joke cos I hope the jetpack gets some usage back. Playing today felt like I was doing the things I normally could but much slower. It was playing with the handbrake on. It's not fun. It actually made me use the hawk for a change. I think the hawk is quite good actually, but, for CTF, it's just not for me. In CTF, the hawks and pilots are just there for support. They don't win the game for the team, they support the people who win the game for the team. You can't really capture a flag in a hawk. And since 1.2.3, this game has gone downhill for me cos CTF is the event I love. And I can't play it when the jetpacks are like this. Starhawk isn't as fun anymore. I hope, really hope LBI fix up the jetpack, and quick

That's the way it's always been over there. Hawk or get out. Even though most of them sucked at flying. Well they used to whenever I played them anyway.

 

This nerf seems a bit much being honest. All you gotta do with a jetpacker now is run around a corner and while they follow you they run out of juice so you are free to do whatever you please with them. And 2 boost refills to get to the highest point in Acid Sea is too much when it takes 6 seconds for each refill.

I'd rather they had taken away the ability to use weapons while in flight altogether rather than change the flight dynamics of the jetpack.

I hope you guys listened to Dylan's radio interview... It was, clear from that, that the jetpack nerf is just a stopgap for now to appease the masses. The fuel change isn't permanent. That was very clear from the interview.
