capture the flag to short?

Anyone else find capture the flag to short?The 15minute timer needs to be at least 20-30minutes.Once i build a fully functional secondary base the game has 1 or 2 minutes left(and by fully functional i mean spawn pod supply base beam turret and hawk launcher)

I think the idea is to try and push people into the capture side more that the defense side; but I'm 100% with ya... By the time your team gets sorted out there's hardly any time to really make a push without worrying about how the base is going...

The time difference might change once more stage setup options are available; or if a larger map comes into play...

20 minutes would be nice, 15 is too short especially for all the new comers in the beta at the moment.

Noticed there's a 20 minute option when setting up the room. But only the current 15 minute option is selectable. Also I see enough room for 30 mins and either 45 mins or 60 mins... Hope the default option will be the 30 mins though.

you are right probley is so short to force us to test the capture aspect.Now if they increase the time to 30minutes we can test the offence aspect of capture the flag.By the time my team has a secondary base set up we have 2minutes left no matter how fast we  collect rift/barrels.hope in the next updatee they change the default to 30 to see how offence works

It's not too short. It's because people are spending too much time in the home base when they could be out helping to control the map and capturing flags. For instance; I've set up a spawn point and a bubble shield above the enemy flag area within the first 2 minutes on the Space map. I can do this unopposed because the enemy team is busy constructing their fortress. Why is no one spawning at my position? If more people came to help out we could have a bunker and beam turret quickly, which would allow us to rain down fire on their flag and destroy their base, making it easier to capture the flag.

 

You actually don't need to waste ALL of the buildings on the home base to protect the flag. Since all of your resources are collected in the furthest place from the enemy flag; what are the chances you will be able to go all the way to the enemy base and get anywhere near the flag without getting shot down? Then you respawn at your home base and this gives the other team loads of time to rebuild all of their stuff before you can get kitted out and start a new assualt. The same goes for the other team and this is why most matches are just 15 minutes of people sitting in the home base, ending the match in a draw.

 

There's a lot more I wanted to say but I'm going to leave it there for the moment.

You have to remember this is just a small map with only half the players. In Warhawk the 30 minute games were best for the full maps with 32 players. Smaller games are supposed to be shorter, with an emphasis on grabbing flags quickly.

 

The problem is the small games are then only option available to us like now, and so everyone is treating it like a big game that needs lots of strategy and time to build a huge base when really it doesn't.

I think either keep it how it is (as it's a small map remember) or change to 20 minutes to accommodate a bit for building.

Yes - 15 minutes is way too short - too much time harvesting and building and not enough time to game
