I didn't get into RDR until earlier this year and I don't think I touched the multiplayer until Feb, but I'm finding levelling up panfully slow, I'm only just at level 15 and I've been at that for a while.
Is there a good hideout or other method that hasn't been hit by an exp nerf patch?

Slightly unnecessarily resurrected a dead and solved thread there, but thought I'd be all nice anyway and clear up what seems to be your incorrect assumption Gwardy.
I wasn't asking for a way to suddenly go from rank 1 to rank 50 (99), I was playing a lot and was finding the levelling up painfully slow and I seemd to have stuck, so was looking for some pointers (which I got, I hadn't really been doing hideout's much at all), because I started to wonder if the way I was doing it was not quite right. I'm an old gent, I don't play games to lol at people with lower rank than me, I'm not trying to act up with big epeen at being high rank, I'm playing the game to have some frivolous fun.
Ranking up in online games is rarely a measure of skill, all it represents is you've put in a lot of hours into the game, but in RDR it also gives you access to better mounts and more weapons. No biggie, but nice to get.

But what is the point to level up...so you can be level 99 but yet not have a clue how to play...LOL I see it all the time, level 40+'ers and they can not even kill a few Zombie sin Undead overrun.
The maximum level is 50.
Also as someone said above, Pike Basin is the best to get quick XP. When you've finished it, press the LEFT button to REPLAY, instead of the right button to continue. Otherwise you have to leave the area and come back. Just do that hideout until you're bored of it.
