I have the original PS3 with the biggest hard drive (sorry cant remember whats the size).

Red Dead freezes on me too. Its ***** me off. Same game works fine on my brother new PS3. I think its obvious that there is something wrong with the game + old PS3.

Other games work fine except I get some visual issues on Assasing Creed 2 and FIFA 10 (very rare).

Its nice to see that they are forgetting about all of us early adopters.

red dead killed my 40gb that i upgraded the hdd to 320gb i was on the mission that i had to take the cart of corn to the mcfarlane ranch all went welll untill the way back whaen the cart glitched and wouldnt move i got off the cart and then tryed to get back on which it let me do then boom nothing happened it just froze up i could move the cammera though thats all i could do the pause menue was black and the ps button didnt work this is the first time its froze now my ps3 wont read blue rays or any type of disk am efffin peeed offff

After installing the patch they released at the weekend my PS3, old 60GB fat one,  froze while playing the game. Restarted and played for another 20 minutes and it happened again. Now it happens on all games I have. I get to play for a few minutes and then the PS3 freezes up. I never had any problems until I got this ***** game. I've had to buy a new slim line PS3. And Red Dead Redemption is going no where near it until I'm 100% convinced that it's not going to do any harm to it.

This is is crap news to hear.. Iv got a 250gb slim that ive been babying sice i got in march.. Only got manufacturers warranty.. I ve just bought the game.. I not too keen on trying my luck by playing now.. But I want to soo bad    Ill die if it happens to my baby!

Froze three times on me in the last two days and my Slim is less than 4 weeks old.

     I too are experiencing problems with the new red dead game, i have an old ps3 60gig and it seems to randomly crash during playing the game, its lasted half an hour before, but it is usually within 15 minutes. the screen goes blank and my ps3 crashes and tells me to shut it down properly. I dont think my ps3 is overheating, as its fairly cool at the vents, and doesnt encounter this problem with any other game.

OK, i really pis s ed off. i have the old 40gb ps3, been playing rdr. and its killed my ps3. i cant play anything without it crashing, it was fine til i played this game. who can i contact regarding this?  im fuming

Almost exact same problem. Got on a carrage, rode into the middle of nowhere, and all of a sudden it stops. Could still whip horses, but the didnt move. sound came through. I got off, and game froze up. Oh, I could still hit the horse in front of me with shove button, but that gets tiresome after about 4 seconds.

Now PS3 wont read any discs at all, no games work etc. Seems like this problem isn't small either; plenty of forums floating around with exact same issues, so far no answers?If anyone stubles across anything post it here please. Really don't wanna have a PS3 stuffed. Problem for us with buggered systems is that no patch Rockstar releases is going to fix a disc drive... Although if Kerrfaewishy has a 320gb and same issue seems like system and memory problems are irrelevent with PS3, and that its something else (System requirements are generally not a problem with consoles anyway)
