MEGA BUMP! OH MY GOD. According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007. While the new story will be set during the same time frame as the original TV series, Newtype states that it will be an entirely new project, not be a remake or improvement of any sort. Newtype also mentions that viewers will not need to have already seen previous Evangelion material in order to understand and enjoy the new movies. Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yama****a will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie. Khara, a new studio that shares office space with Gainax, was recently set up and is seeking production staff to work on Anno's new project. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=9464

Four new eva movies? oh god, i smell a cash in, are gimax doing poorly in the financial turnover department? Well, if they are even half as good as episodes 14-26 and EOE then it'll be great. What i fear though is it'll ruin the perfectness that is the NGE series (yes, i regard it as perfect, and i feel that its numerous flaws are what help to make it perfect).

i saw Princess Monomoke (sp?) on film four today, all i can say is wow, i dont think ive seen a film as beautiful since spirited away (SA still tops it though). Infact i loved it so much i think i'll buy it this sunday, despite only having £20 to last me till mid October.

Princess Mononoke is a superb film but it's, well, almost exactly the same as Spirited Away to me and so I got a bit bored mid way through. All that dudes films are the same I think. As fro NGE, well, at least Mr. Anno will still be involved but I feel exactly the same as Green. NGE was perfect (well, nearly, nothing is perfect) and it could be a disaster. However it's not going to be a remake, it's probably going to be the same story but from a different view, just like the way EoE was a different take on the final episodes of the series.

yeah, that is some kind of consolation. I like the sound of the prequal, unless they've become complete morons it will be hard to **** up the series with a prequal, it could even help to had more deph. It will probably be based around the flashback events of episode 21 where GEHIRN and the eva prodject was just begining and the first impact. The only thing that worries me the the 'sequal', when they say sequal do they mean set directly after EOE? If that is the case then that worries me a little, but i'll just have to wait and see.

Nah, I don't there are any prequels and sequels, the whole thing is set within the same time slot as the original NGE series. When ti says "prequel" i think it just means film 1, which sets up the story for film 2, and the sequel/s are films 3 and 4.
