you have to go through the level until you get to a knight standing near a doorway of fog, kill him.

instead of going through the fog go to the right and there will be a stairwell that you need to go down

the ring is at the bottom of these stairs

FYI, 1-1 is extremely easy in comparison. The parry means nothing later on, trust me

i am soul level 51 and am finding the game extremely difficult right now, it is frustrating

still an amazing game

I'm going to go into my Game Traders tomorrow and ask what is up with my order, I ordered it three weeks ago and still no sign of it coming any time soon. The bloke I ordered it from said 2 weeks maximum...

Yup thats pretty close, but not just at the botttom of the stairs, you need to kind of "jump" of the stairs to get over the barrier to a hidden level just bellow. If you walk to the bottom of the stairs normally and look over the edge you will see a raised platform with a knight standing on it, and a chest. The ring is in the chest, the knight is friendly.

So you need to use the stairs to "jump" over this ledge and get down to the chest and the knight.... you gotta sorta run of the stairs at an angle, and land on the barrier, or over the barrier, but you must land on the raised section, or else you will have to run around and try it all again.... stupid games with no jump button.......

Patch that's the thieves ring, he is asking about the cling ring which gives you 75% health in soul form

it is down the bottom of the stairwell, pull the level and it is behind the gate

Yep you got it capnwpac

I have to say it is actually pretty hard to miss those 2 items ( or any items so far as the yellow glow they give off is pretty visible unless a dragon just set you on fire...) and the Cling Ring area opens a handy shortcut

*****POSSIBLE SPOILERS?***** 

I got the cling ring now, what a difference that makes!  Ive scared the dragon away thats gaurding other rings as well as the purple flame sheild.  It took approx 180 arrows!!

I can kill any enemy in one hit now on level 1-1, even those blue eyed knights with 1 parry, riposte. That red knight is hard though!  I had to kill him by luring him off the edge of the big stairwell.  That Phalanx boss was fairly easy too.

I cant kill the tower knight boss yet tho, so i went to the next pillar thingy and im currently doing the burrow king level 1.  There is alot of shards in this level for blacksmithing.  So im gonna hang in there for a while harvesting souls and shards.

Love this game.

I have been playing this game for a few months now and it is a exelent game. My soul level is 121 so far and close to finishing it for a second time.

Going to play it for a third time.

Does your character continue over into the next playthrough, or do you have to start with a new one?
